THE HOUSE JUST VOTED TO EXTENDED TPS FOR HAITI!!! Thank you, Rep. Ayanna Pressley for your leadership on this. Proud to help co-lead this effort for our Haitian brothers, sisters, and siblings. What a day.
Non-starter. She's the Real Deal, been following her work for years. Her bona fides are impeccable.
Nobody is infallible, however. Where are you coming from to make a counter-argument or an asymmetric advance? You are not known to me.
So, I just added 2 columns with X & Y.
Ended up discovering we had duplicate-counted a majority of expenses in process. We needed far fewer records than we realized.
Like accepting life advice from someone with an iron grip on a Stanley Cup.
Per our Finance Team: "It organized things really well, but it didn't have all of the information we need. We also need to know [X, Y]."
She was a terrible mayor in Happy Valley. Place became a beige strip mall under her leadership.

I gave it a whirl in Feb/March using it to consolidate invoices and orders for a RFR.
Yeah, we have A Tool we are permitted to use in controlled cases. I need to see how I can whack it with a Wiffle Bat and see what pops out.
"Tell me Ugly Truths, not Pretty Lies."
@scba.bsky.social is absolutely nailing her keynote at our Oregon Prepared conference, discussing AI in Emergency Management. Some fears soothed, others stoked, but most importantly: Conversations provoked!
I'm cautiously curious to see if the tools can help me ask better questions and then get better responses from local jurisdictions.
"Computer, take the AAR/IP items, and schedule follow-up meetings with the flagged Department every 60 days for the next 180 days."
"Computer, take the Corrective Actions items and schedule a follow-up meeting with flagged Departments within 30 days. Invite the Executive Team and Legal."
I knew it was bad when I saw $4.39 in a coastal community that is a tourist hub, and I thought to myself "Damn, I'm paying at least a quarter more per gallon just 100 miles up the shoreline."
@justanothergourd.bsky.social This AI keynote is gonna drive a metric Butt-Ton of work when we get back to the offices/Telework Jungle-Gyms.
Such a good slasher flick! Had me absolutely terrified as a teenager.
For all those still feeling the moon joy—Artemis II was brought to you by public schools and publicly funded science. Copy that! 👩🚀🚀💕
*All four astronauts went to public schools!

You need to make an Airport BINGO Card where you can observe the best & worst of humanity when people prepare for long-distance travel.
Heroes & Villains in every direction, on display in a liminal coliseum.
For more than a week, Amazon has managed to keep a death at its Troutdale, Oregon, facility out of public view.
Workers I spoke to are pissed.
They're named "Amazon" because they will swallow people up whole, never to be seen again!
And likewise, I hope there are similar conversations "below the knees" in organizations closer to the shop floor.
A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week.
For more than an hour, workers were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead.
One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to @thewesternedge.bsky.social.
My union would have shut this place down until everyone's safety and dignity could be guaranteed.
Thrilled to see the dawn of a new era in Hungary. What they call "impossible" is so close at hand, if only we all stand together!
A "wartime" poster that says: "Using Generative AI? You're Prompting with Hitler! GenAI is a Fascist Project! Try using your brain instead! Don't surrender your creativity to the Tech Billionaires' control!"
I missed this from @phineas.bsky.social when it originally came out but it sure feels relevant at the moment.

The Artemis II splashdown was shown on Mariners vision here at T-Mobile Park, and a large cheer from the fans currently at the ballpark could be heard when the splashdown happened.
"Fly me to the moon" is playing over the speakers now.
