The UK Trans Experience: you can be arbitrarily included in a lawsuit that has nothing to do with you, be included in national coverage and have dozens of articles written about you, be found innocent of everything and still have journalists follow you to different countries to call you a pervert

🇪🇺🏳️🌈⚖️🇭🇺 A legal earthquake - CJEU finds Hungary to have violated EU law on multiple counts with its anti-LGBT+ legislation (as expected) but also for the first time in history, in an EU law-reshaping precedent, finds Hungary to violate Art 2 TEU in a self-standing manner.
After France, Denmark is moving too: its Digitalisation Ministry plans to phase out Microsoft, switching to Linux and LibreOffice in the coming months. The goal is clear—reduce dependence on a handful of global tech giants and strengthen digital sovereignty.
In Glasgow Southside you have Holly Bruce as a constituency candidate, you could vote for a proper actual genuine trans ally! Instead of an SNP candidate who has just been relatively neutral. Green manifesto much better on trans rights than SNP as well.

My book is out now!!
Jacob’s Transition Goals is a positive, hopeful story about an 8 year old transgender boy who loves football. In today’s political climate, trans joy is so needed - you should grab a copy!
You can buy Jacob’s Transition Goals in LGBTQ+ bookshops and online all over the world
Average Prime Minister steps on 3 rakes a day factoid is actually just statistical error. Average Prime Minister steps on 0 rakes per day. Rakes Keir, who lives in garden centre and steps on over 10,000 rakes each day, is an outlier and should not have been counted
But it is tho…chatting with ai should be considered like chatting with a malevolent demon that may seem like it can help you but you can never trust it and it may well drive you into madness
A photo of Kieron I took as part of some reference for WicDiv years ago, in a park in London, by a bench on some grass. Over the horizon, I added the words IF TRUE so that they appear enormous across the London skyline. This was funny to me when I first made it, and it's still funny to me now, so you're seeing it again.
Huge if true
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.
well "[people being less bigoted than me] made me feel shame so I [radicalised in my bigotry to full-on fascism]" is kinda honest in a way and the story of our time, so there's that
Gay folks who claim asylum have to “out” themselves to bureaucrats who ask invasive and demeaning questions, face stigma from their broader communities, have to deal with abuse from people sharing their accommodation. The idea it’s “easy” to just pretend to be gay for asylum is breathtakingly false.
My children’s book Jacob’s Transition Goals comes out in 3 DAYS!! And you can pre-order here from Gay’s The Word if you’d like to support a queer bookshop 👇

the 'good' labour mps have had a year to fix the supreme court ruling and nearly two years to end the puberty blocker ban.
in that time they have achieved absolutely nothing.
vote green.
Getting in on that sweet sweet transphobia cash I see. Cancelled my subscription.
Read the joint statement we have signed with over 100 organisations across the migrant and refugees, LGBTQIA+ and gender-based violence sectors, explaining why we believe it is vital that the BBC is responsible in its reporting on asylum claims in the UK: www.rainbowmigration.org.uk/news/we-stan...
Let us do without soldiers. The joy built upon successful slaughter is not the right kind of joy; it will not do; it is fearful and it is trivial.
Every single day this week I’ve seen at least one thing that has been extremely dehumanising to me either as a person of colour or as a trans person or both, and a not insignificant amount has been directly from political parties wanting me to vote for them.
This is so crap, they really just didn’t even try 🫠 genuinely not sure I can stomach voting SNP this time even though they are absolutely the least worst option available to me for constituency vote.
A reminder that trans people's 'demands' were 'can we have healthcare that doesn't take 20 years?' and 'can we change our documents easier!?'
That's it.
And we didn't even ask very loudly.
In response, the UK has decided to take all our rights away.

One year on from trans exclusion: Over 100,000 Women Say ‘Not In Our Name’ 🎉
As NION Women’s letter in support of the trans community surpasses 100,000 signatures on this notable day, we look at how far we have come...
#NotInOurName #NIONWomen #OneYearLater #WomensRights #TransRights
The more I think about this the more it seems like a reactionary, poorly thought out last min manifesto addition off the back of recent articles about supermarkets considering demand based pricing tbh.
Screenshot of the NION open letter page, showing the counter standing at 9933 signatures
67 signatures to go 🩵🩶💛💗

In light of the BBC claiming that asylum seekers are falsely claiming to be gay in order to gain asylum, here is an article about the difficulties and humiliations LGBT asylum seekers have experienced trying to prove their identities.

I’m also fascinated that chicken is the only meat product mentioned, again there’s the angle of okay if you’re saying that we have to cap price on components of a balanced diet then what plant-based protein source are you price capping. But also why have they picked chicken specifically? Hmmm
Yep, for one I would like to know if milk and cheese will cover plant based / dairy free alternatives, or is this going to end up punishing people with intolerances or who are actively trying to make their diet less environmentally damaging?
Ask not for whom the code vibes
Literally anyone trying to get ideas across to an audience in this format, if you’re using Substack then you’ve lost me. I’m never gonna read something if you’re hanging out in the Nazi bar and demanding I join you in there to read it.
Any pro trans event with labour mps present let alone in a place of prominence means its toothless and useless and if anything provides a shield for Labour to hide behind fuck this shit
Not to shit on this parade but the fact Labour lets an event like this happen and more broadly hasnt kicked Nadia out the party is because its not at all in any way a threat to their transphobic policies
This is really important in the context of the Worcester LGBT story. What the BBC is calling an 'investigation' is basically an anecdote with a single verified example. From a standpoint of journalistic integrity, the piece is pathetic. But it is profoundly dangerous in promoting a hateful narrative
