I found a reddit thread about this plaque and someone made a great point
This stretch of LaSalle also includes what must be the city’s dumbest commemorative plaque
I’m never on LaSalle in River North so I’d never seen this squat little Art Deco stunner. The restaurant space on the lower level seems to be empty right now
The Obama-era dream of abundant fast-casual restaurants for easy solo dining for losers is not dead, this new Thai place at Wells and Lake is delicious and reasonably priced!!
Judging by the lower left corner of the poster, I'm guessing that Michael (1996) has a record number of dog reaction shots
You know, an unauthorized movie about what an incredibly weird freak Michael Jackson was could actually be interesting. It’s the authorized biopics that have got to go.

I'm buying out a theater on opening weekend of "Michael" so as many people as possible can see this important film without the barrier of ticket price. DM if interested for details! Btw I am of course talking about Nora Ephron's Michael from 1996
This has been checked out 6 times so far because of this shelf-talker 🕶️
hahaha I once again have reason to regret not going all the way with On Cinema
Going to this tonight, didn't realize they got city funding for it, that's pretty cool
Gumby is free-falling through a stylized cityscape
Not to do a "shut up and dribble" but if Subway Takes becomes a political show it will lose whatever meager charms it had
"He is known for writing & directing the feature films Jethica (2022) and Everything Beautiful Is Far Away (2017)" no he's not. There is not a real movie called "Jethica"
The year is 2030. President RFK Jr has outlawed grocery stores, providing every American with a rifle and ammo to hunt and kill their own food. The lone bulwark of resistance is Trader Joe's, where you can still get the frozen bags of pasta with frozen blocks of sauce in them—if you can find parking
Frankly I have not seen nearly as many posts about Nora Ephron's Michael (1996) in conjunction with the Michael Jackson biopic as I would have expected. 5-10 years ago on twitter this is all we would have been doing nonstop for weeks before and after this movie's release.
Sometimes I miss being a librarian til I talk to a person in an uncontrolled social situation and then I'm like, ah yes, never mind

This is happening again now that I’m reading his new book
I'm not a journalist or even someone who subscribes to newspapers but the willful destruction of the Washington Post both angers and scares me. There are no more permanent institutions.
Not a surprise that the admin would go after the Southern Poverty Law Center but this is definitely support for the Confederacy 2.0 theory
Incredible shots of the exchange between Rep. AOC and RFK, Jr. at today’s congressional hearing.

Sara Radovanovitch o @the_cats_meowww X.com Tim Heidecker snitched on my husband to the Feds. While not entirely out of character for an unfunny socialist like Tim, he tried to backtrack and delete his original tweet where he ID'd Jay to the FBI, only after the media ran with it and fans were being critical. It doesn't seem like he had any remorse though, as he went on to write an article on his Substack, justifying his rat behavior because Jay was once "mean" to him at a bar like 25 years ago when Tim was still a tag-a-long newbie in LA. Nevermind that they worked together multiple times over the years after that, little Timmy doesn't forget!
Okay, the funniest response to the news of @theonion.com getting InfoWars is seeing Jay Johnston's wife claiming that Tim Heidecker snitched on her husband to the FBI, as though thousands of people hadn't already been like "Is that Jay Johnston at January 6th?" online before Tim said anything.
This but with a lowercase e
The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
