we need to get enough solid wins that members of the DFL caucuses can be pushed to be brave.
we need to win back the house by a big enough margin that they can tell Klob to kick rocks.

Would you believe it? He stopped ANOTHER war!

So … about “flooding the zone” …
It’s my favorite Trek score.

Bryant Ave S before - typical overly wide 2 way street with parking on both sides and sidewalks. No bike infrastructure except painted faded sharrows
After ofBryant Ave S - sidewalk next to 2 way sidewalk level bikeway. The street is narrowed to 1 lane going 1 way in most spots with one side of parking
All ages and abilities - before & after (Bryant Ave S).
More streets should and *could*
look like this, simply by taking advantage of needed street reconstructions to not just replace an aging street, but to improve it for everyone.
The LID (Liability Insurance Dome) hangs over each of us, caring for our safety, ensuring we will not sue over anything except the things they haven’t figured out we will sue over yet
I think we all need to start referring to the american flag as "the afroman logo" instead

Exempting #ALPR data from the Public Records Act in SB6002 was a mistake. We lost a form of accountability yet nothing else really changed in our favor.
So, as predicted during the legislative session, we're starting to see cities shrug and just turn their cameras back on! 👎
#deflock #surveillance
Flock cameras in particular should be considered regular cameras, not just ALPRs. Automated license plate recognition is a feature, but when your system can also recognize vehicles by distinguishing marks, among other things, it’s really a general purpose surveilla platform.
NEW: Democrats have officially claimed a second upset in Florida's recent special elections.
The AP just declared Brian Nathan, an electrical workers union leader, to be the winner of a tight state senate contest in reliably Republican West Tampa.
Also, some people just like operating unnecessary vehicles. I may not really need a cargo bike or a fat bike, but I do enjoy the feeling of riding them, plus they actually are clutch sometimes. Just be glad I am not getting that feeling with a giant truck, ok? 😛

As a more efficient human person, or person on bicycle, or person on transit, you can minimize most of your dependence on the above simply by reducing the overall costs.
*illusion of independence
Automobiles are dependent on:
- road maintenance (paid for by the public)
- fuel delivery infrastructure (paid for by fuel prices)
- car maintenance shops
- car sales shops, and
- a heap of externalized cost in the form of excess death and illness (even EVs emit tire dust)

I have a theory about this involving mapmaking practices.
In many (esp. automated) map label placement strategies, relative population can play an outsized role. So, on many maps, the metro area has one big dot labeled “Minneapolis”.
I have included a photo showing a more thoughtful strategy.
Be gentle, comrades. After all, we can't realistically expect on-the-ground accuracy about matters in Minnesota from a newspaper printed in Iowa.

We sure could but then people might get used to the idea they could just be a human and still get places
