Royal Trux - Cats and Dogs Demo Sessions
Royal Trux - Cats and Dogs Demo Sessions Very rare tape of the early cats and dogs sessions with mostly Neil on vocals.

Holy shit. Royal Trux "Cats and Dogs" DEMOS!
One of my all-time favorite albums by my favorite band? And notoriously a band who would let their songs take radically different forms? (mostly Neil vox here for one) How did I not know this exists?

Before you argue with some MAGA online, consider that it's very likely they are not a real person. This has always been true, but they used to be simple bots or troll farms hired to push an agenda. Now they may look more real.

Honestly all the sudden media attention on the Clavicular dude feels like piling on a kid who is clearly spiraling. Like the attention is accelerating a tragic villain origin story.

I think you could pull this off with some kind of viral "noise tape challenge" video. Might need several attempts before something takes though.

Highly recommend replacing yr iPhone battery at an Apple Store when it gets weak. Costs $90 but gets you a few more years of life. I even got a new screen, no charge. The guy said "Maybe they cracked it replacing the battery." Hope I can hold onto this 13 Mini until they make another small model!

Describing something as "very aesthetic" is the same as describing a food as "very flavor."

Please don't ever explain anything to me like I'm 5. Explain everything to me like I'm an intelligent adult thanks.

Not sure where else to post these,
But I'd like to find a home. I think I was out of town during Covert Metal Fest. Puffers I sort of remember happening... But for regional noisefests I usually only got there if I was playing also.

Check out tons of underground noise/weirdo-rock photos I took between 2007-2016 primarily at east coast noisefests and Brooklyn DIY venues. Look now before I cut this collection down to <1000 so I can switch to Flickr's free plan.

The important thing is attention grabbing consumes and music that is maybe a little weird, but not really that weird. Caroliner's music is far, far too weird.

Then a vibe shift for Militarie Gun who were very "pro rock attitude" everything very practiced. Singer even said something between songs about how he just got so thrown off because his shoelace came untied? Ha ha. I'd describe their style as "alternative arena rock."

First 2 bands were somewhat scrappy: Combat - I can see why they'd be called emo, melodic punk w singer/songwriter vibe. Teen Mprtgage - more riff-based punky rock, also strong post-Nirvana feel.

Audience is all teens & 20-somethings except for me. OK maybe a few other 40+. And yeah they've sold out a humongous venue so more popular than any band I've gone to see in the past decade for sure!

At a show my nephew invited me to & know none of the bands. He's come to shows at my invite so thought I'd check it out, going in cold. Asked him to describe & the word "emo" came up a few times, but who knows what that means now. Bands are: Joyce Manor, Militarie Gun, Teen Mortgage, Combat. AMA?

Totally excited for Dune Part 3, even though I re-read it recently and have no clue how they'll make a blockbuster movie from it. It's about 90% palace intrigue & philosophizing. And will require serious acting from Momoa. But I loved reading it again and will continue with the rest of the books!

Soft as Snow is basically a rap song isn't it? Kinda wish someone would take up the challenge and do a whole rap/shoegaze hybrid project.

I just played at an all-ages matinee show and the audience literally ranges from age 7 to 77 and it rules.

Well I'm only basing this on original Super Mario Bros, but Peach appears to already be deposed and imprisoned. Bowser has control of the seat of government (castle) and his troops police the kingdom.

What right do the Mario Brothers have to pursue regime change in the Mushroom Kingdom?

I always thought the lyric in Jesus & Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey" was "I'll be your plastic toilet" and the earlier line was "her honey dripping, behind" but apparently it's "plastic toy" and "beehive." My misheard lyrics really shift the meaning, but I think I prefer them.

This reminds me my old band Cock Robot played as Rock Robot to a 5th grade class. They were allowed to stand up and dance for one song, then Q&A where they had many questions - and critiques! Then we played to the 3rd grade, much less impressed because they just got back from the zoo.

So I was in this band The Scurvy Pirates. We wrote pirate songs and performed in character as if real pirates. Got booked for some weird gigs as a result. Also played a Whole Foods grand opening and roamed the store in character confusing & frightening shoppers.

Always love the Tampa DIY approach: played shows under an overpass, in a storage unit, parking lot of an abandoned pizza place. But strangest experience was Staten Island Ferry terminal. Imagine playing on stage to 1000 ppl waiting on a ferry, every one determined to completely ignore you.

The DJT (Trump Media) stock value is down about 75% from its post-election peak. Or calculated the way the Trump admin does percentages, you'd say it's down 300%
