Look, this is small potatoes compared to the horrors and the crimes and the grifts of this administration, but it is hard to find a better example of the rhetorical question "If they were actively trying to weaken our country, what would they be doing differently?"

An important message from Indigo Girls. We know it’s long, but please listen to it in its entirety if you are able. TikTok video by Indigo Girls

Oh my god. Late to this news about one of my favorite bands of all time. And still touring. No idea even what to say. www.tiktok.com/@indigogirls...

Thank you for this. Voyager storys makes me tear up. Those late Gen-X probes are younger than me by mere months, and I have been following their journey my whole life from the 80s era "Grand Tour" book on. Amazed we still have both. When the last one goes dark, I am not sure how I will cope.

Rewatched this tonight with a friend and I would like to reiterate my original position. There are those who think this film is brilliant and there are those who are wrong.

Morgan Wallen is in town so it is like game day level crowds but with only white people.

Checking and rechecking Bluesky until @alyxvesey.bsky.social spots today’s Madonna discourse.

Me looking for comps. “I mean, mine is kind of like this except this is actually good.”

Love this idea, particularly if the appeals process is a public sartorial critique / roast.

This 1000%. “Be a teacher, not a cop” has been pretty much my main mantra for the past decade.

Did not say it was AI. Never mentioned AI. Just failed it for fabrication of quotes. Slam dunk academic misconduct.

Yup. Teach those who want to be taught. Also, for what it is worth, a simple clarification of the already present academic misconduct policy (quote / information fabrication will result in a zero) is enough of a bar to clear that means you can fail clear AI work with no hassle or even feedback.

Having a lovely time tonight improving my Bluesky feed by blocking Eric Swalwell defenders.

1. This is absolutely prime Sicko material. 2. No one here is pointing out that #8 ABSOLUTELY knows what just happened as the flag flies. That is a rules lawyer brained defender I want on my team.

My kid (12) just went to see a performance of Midsummer Night's Dream (shoutout to the Alabama Shakespeare Project) and is insisting on filling out their survey (as it is coupled with a research project). Would love to see how he skews the data.

With the singular exception that Paxton is the only one who, if given a small role, will do his damndest to make that movie more fun.

Thoughts? Cannot decide if my game group would enjoy it and buy into the chaos or just get frustrated.

And, FWIW I actually agree with you for the most part. I just hit me today that I stick to this one thing not for tradition (I don’t care on 90% of old practices) or even fully aesthetics. It is a thought thing. I process one space and two spaces differently.

I could have clarified that the editorial experience of manually deleting spaces could also create an antipathy!

I really need @brianoliu.bsky.social to weigh in on this theory.

I just realized that 1. almost all the people I know who hate “two spaces after the period” are poets and it is because 2. They think in semicolons. Two periods are for the end of a thought; it is irrelevant if you conceive of all sentences as sequenced with an EM dash daisy chain from hell.

This is it. This can be hung around the neck of any of his sycophantic cronies (Vance, Rubio, etc) that try to step into his shoes when he is gone. Just play this on repeat in ads against any who try to run for anything.

My one common experience across all social media (Here, Reddit, Facebook, back when I was on Twitter) is that there is exactly zero correlation between what I think is a banger and what actually gets likes. Honestly, less than zero. Inverse.

Going to go out on a limb here and say the "half hour" an hour ago was optimistic.

That seems.... sub optimal.
