Islamic Golden Age–Inspired Puzzle Game
Islamic Golden Age–Inspired Puzzle Game YouTube video by AJ+

So @farisattieh.bsky.social, who dreamt up House of Hikmah, sent this to me with a big crying emoji and it's so cool to see the game ripple through media. It does leave a glaring hole - I do really wish Western media, who control Metacritic and all that, would hold more space for non-Western stories

I’m going to reshare a thread from a few months ago about two immigrants to the US developing a lifelong friendship despite the language barrier, because I sincerely believe that white nationalism is a narcissism designed to normalize learned helplessness on the part of white folks. 1/

Halloween Pits Michael Myers Against an Entire Town…in a 4v1 Multiplayer Game. Been bad about posting my work recently but I previewed IllFonic's Halloween for PAX East @ign.com and I thought it was rad.

Also very grateful to @dmc-ryan.bsky.social for letting me use "Why live laugh love when you can stab stab stab?" as a subhed.

Morning folks! I’m this week’s guest on AVC Game’s new weekly column Playtime. Wrote a blurb about Esoteric Ebb and how it’s the kind of game you wanna introduce with a story rather than a label

Loved getting to talk with Derek about card games, and got to speak about topics that are extremely rarely discussed in North American spaces due to overwhelming groups prioritized more often.

Did not know until recording it would be audio only published, so dressed up in bowtie just for Derek.

House Of Hikmah Interview: Creating A World Of Scholars GameObserver speaks with House of Hikmah creative director Faris Attieh about creating world inspired by the Golden Age of Islamic scholarship.

One thing that's easy to miss about the just-released House of Hikmah is that the Islamic Scholars are known with the same awe and reverence as superheroes in Western culture. It'd be hard to grow up without learning of the exploits of some of these characters.

ICYMI did a preview for Imprinted!
Couple things I like, among them is how it simulates editing.

The focus here is audio given you play as an audio restorationist, but even as a video editor, was interesting to see how it captured the flow of working with editing software

Quick thoughts on doing my first preview: seeing smth in development was cool, but chance for an interview was the best part.

Fun side bar, was nervous about writing this enough to first watch @plante.bsky.social’s preview class in his VG Journalism class. So many roads really do lead back to 2008
