An old boss of mine used to talk about ’perfection being the enemy of the good’. It’s what holds groups like the Greens back as they can’t credit steps in the right direction as they don’t yet go far enough.

My sister has had both her eyes done this year. It’s made such a difference for her she healed quite quickly - hope you do too.
You can easily pay more than that for a night in a Premier Inn in London! The confected outrage is just tiresome.

Fortunate enough to have time to call in to the Catholic Cathedral while in Liverpool this morning. I’m not a particularly religious person but I find the space there remarkable, especially on a sunny day.
Oops, missed the 1999 bit 🙄

He wants to go down in history but it will be for all of the wrong reasons. Even if it’s a huge game of chicken, the stakes are way too high.
Large bust of George Washington at Sudbury Manor.
You wonder what #1 would make of today’s insane rant from #47. Suspect he would be spinning in his grave.
Well, someone is…

Agree they’re too big for many streets, but it’s as much to do with car parking bay dimensions not changing since the guidelines were developed in the 1970s. Cars are on average 5” wider since that time too.
It’s quite astonishing really.
Would do the same, tbh. If it’s any consolation my wife and I are/were supposed to be going to Egypt and Jordan in early May. Our flight home from Jordan has just been cancelled…!
Other scenario is that some airlines divert additional capacity to Asia (as BA is doing) so prices stay stable or even fall slightly. The point made by others about risk of fuel surcharges is another complicating factor.
As a former sufferer and in light of the awful Meningitis outbreak in the UK, sharing @meningitisnow.bsky.social and a handy symptom poster to raise awareness. Don’t take any chances if you suspect you or someone else may have the symptoms. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
Enjoy - it’s a fabulous place, apart from some of the Americans who seemed to not know their limits in terms of drink…
That’s an image I really, really could have done without tonight. Thanks Otto.
Geography doesn’t seem to be Isabel’s strong point either …
That’s the evolution of the existing, operational Sea Viper system, if I read it correctly. So there is current capability - it needs to develop to respond to changing threats which is nothing new and not unique to the UK.
Photograph of the moon, full and red in colour because of a lunar eclipse.
Fabulous #bloodmoon over Runcorn Bridge this evening (not that you can see the bridge!).
Is it me, or are programmes getting smaller?
