I was recently horrified to discover that Vimeo had added (without my knowledge) AI captions to my film, and they were about 90 seconds to 2 minutes off from the actual actors. A massively unprofessional (and damaging) surprise of unwanted bullshit.

To be fair they were expected to simply get out and stop a fascist. It's not a vote that fixes all the problems, but it is required to fix one very big one.

Not to mention that even when AI is used for research, most of the time we want to do research without AI helping, but it gets harder and harder to avoid the durn thing automatically jumping in with some gobbledygook it mashed together from reddit shitposts.

(I also noticed that the previous strike ended not long after California courts ruled AI generated stories could not be copyrighted... If producers replaced artists with AI they wouldn't own that IP)
