The ECGFF thematic workshop concluded in Lisbon after a day and a half of exchange at EMSA. Discussions brought together authorities, institutions and agencies to share perspectives on security, sustainability, technology and cooperation in the maritime domain.
This morningโs #ECGFF discussions at EMSA turned to maritime surveillance technologies and training. Exchanges covered how new tools are used in practice, alongside the role of skills development, trainer programmes and e-learning.
Discussions today at the ECGFF workshop focused on decarbonisation and its operational impact. Panels explored alternative fuels, safety and environmental aspects, and the practical implications for coast guard authorities at sea and in port.
Opening the ECGFF workshop at EMSA, our ED stressed that coast guard authorities operate in an increasingly complex environment and that โno single authority, and no single agency can address these developments aloneโ, underlining the need for cooperation and shared experience.
