Christmas came a little early this year…feeling so very grateful.

I really believe Fridays are meant for good plans and even better company. And sometimes that simply means curling up with a good book.

December isn’t even over and January is already full. I suppose planning ahead is the surest way onto my nice list.

Proof that the fastest way to my heart is still a good book. He found an Edith Wharton I hadn’t read yet…I’m still swooning.

Thinking about Louis XIV again…at Versailles, you could only sit if you had chair privileges. Everyone else stood, sometimes for hours.

Versailles: where your glutes were sculpted by hierarchy, not Pilates.

Thinking a lot about the Louvre heist and the multiple times I have lightly hinted at certain kinds of gifts that would impress me…wondering if any of my upcoming dates have a surprise for me 🤔

Now back to your regularly programmed Versailles facts: Louis XIV forbade knocking on doors, it was too crude! Courtiers had to scratch instead, often growing one long nail to be heard. Centuries before another sort of powdered pastime made that look fashionable again.

What I brought home from Paris isn’t just Dior and Alaïa. It’s laughter over late dinners, someone who still opens every door, and the fact that he brought me back two years in a row.

He said that the room was so me and ordered me to sit. Can’t say he was wrong, or that I’m upset about an assertive gentleman 😘

A perfect Sunday in Paris = a lazy morning in the hotel followed by leisurely strolls through the Musée Rodin.

Going back to Crazy Horse (somehow even better the second time) was a perfect way to end a perfect day. Not to mention the absolute thrill in watching @mikajayne.bsky.social see it for the first time!

Let’s just say I stand by what I said last year…this show is incredible foreplay 😘

What a perfect start to our trip with a magnificent dinner at Granite.

I swear the timing of my new obsession with the French Revolution (not to mention fashion week) was completely coincidental with this trip to Paris. Back at La Reserve and it could not be more dreamy!

Unlocked a new fixation…the French Revolution. All this time I’ve been buried in plague history, while Versailles gossip was right under my nose. Expect a steady stream of court facts!

Few things are sexier than a man who wants to retrace our steps abroad…international trip incoming.
