It’s a uniquely devastating experience to try to convey to someone who never watched gossip girl how the With Me scene changed your brain chemistry as a teenager

My dad putting this in the room I’m staying in would be a burn were he not also a lawyer

Honestly I’ve been so offline lately that I might find that endearing, like “aw, you guys are still here :)”

Sneaker Company Allbirds Plans to Pivot to A.I. Yes, A.I.

The 2026 vibe apparently is “any company can be an AI company if you ✨just believe✨” www.nytimes.com/2026/04/15/u...

“I post all the time on Bluesky and I never get any engagement”

Friendo have you considered skeeting out something incredibly stupid while mostly distracted by a tedious life task, preferably with an egregious typo in it? Because that right there is the juice

I beg you to stop screenshotting and quoting the dumbest posts on the protocol, I have just this one human life and I want to see your posts and not theirs

We finally have the chance to pivot from “how embarrassing” re: typos to “sorry I thought so deeply about your question with my human nuanced brain and was so excited to craft you a fulsome response that I typed too quickly and wrote ‘teh’ instead of ‘the’”

Another day, another typo I notice in an email after sending it.

But wait.

Aren’t typos sort of like a certificate of authenticity now? A signal I wrote from scratch, using my human brain, instead of punting to AI?

You know what, don’t answer that. I like that narrative and I’m running with it.

I'm sorry.

Why should we ever take anyone's historical work seriously if they believe that people who were *adamantly opposed* to a legal reform are reliable sources for understanding the meaning of the reform?

That's like historical grad school class 101 level stuff. Like day two.

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

Remember this.

our media overlords saw the abysmal ratings of the gossip girl reboot and said “soulless versions of millennial hits are a great call! let’s do harry potter”

Like, I don’t feel any of the warm nostalgic feelings I thought it would trigger instinctively. I was kinda worried that would happen against my will, ngl. But instead I just felt…tired and hollow and sort of bitter. Another cash grab benefitting a hateful person.

I grew up *loving* Harry Potter. Like, the Having Harry Potter Parties, Playing Harry Potter Games On The Family Computer All Night, Writing Little Scrolls To Friends In Class level of loving Harry Potter. And JK Rowling is so awful even *I* saw the trailer for the reboot & thought “this is trash”

I don't even know what to say about how bad this is. People have been denied due process by not being able to attend court hearings for fear of being kidnapped; other people HAVE been kidnapped for showing up to do the exact thing we say we want.

It’s always bothered me how readily people seem to see “Believe Women” as the start of some terrifying, socially disastrous ~slippery slope~ ending with us wreaking havoc on innocent bystanders.

Is this threat so compelling, so viscerally realistic, that disbelieving us is the only viable default?
