this is absolutely horrible. I do not want my amazing, brilliant daughter to have been exterminated in the womb for being trans!

also...like, I know for a fact that she would not say that her childhood was horrific. 1

So public schools can’t have a book assigned in class about LGBTQ people but apparently can be required to teach Christianity.

The Supreme Court found that a school acknowledging the existence of LGBTQ people was such a violation of freedom of religion that they had to allow opt outs but now the 5th circuit says kids being exposed to the ten commandments isn't. The law is such a joke.

the cover of the book "This Nonviolent Stuff'll Get You Killed" which features a black and white photo of an elderly Black woman sitting in a rocking chair, clearly in her sitting room, holding the barrel of her long gun while it's propped up beside her on the left. she is wearing a long plaid skirt and a short sleeved white shirt.

We're really in that point of history where humanitarians are being villainized for keeping tabs on terrorist organizations... What's the point of remaining nonviolent towards hate groups if it's still going to get us punished?

The cyberattack on The British Library in October 2023 knocked out ebooks and almost ever other computer thing there for years.

Ebooks just came back. They were knocked out everywhere using the BL’s license (legal deposit libraries I think? More libraries?)

Distributed physical copies matter.

Your regular reminder that cops don't actually justify their existence or enormous budgets by solving much crime.

Approximately 11% of all serious crimes result in an arrest, and about 2% end in a conviction.

And then there's this...
