Hilary Kornblith tells a similar story about Sydney Shoemaker. I think it’s good for stories like this to be shared.

I have a question about this format Helen. I know we talked about this a bit, but… should these definitely be advancing *novel* philosophical ideas, or could they “convey” less novel ideas in a novel way? Just wondering about how to think of the possibilities.

Jon Matheson’s Why it’s OK not to think for yourself.

And with my daughter: Riordin’s third Percy Jackson book, The Titan’s Curse.

What about you??

Favorite is HiPhi Nation. But I also really like Setiya’s Five Questions. It’s neat to see how philosophers’ lives connect to their philosophy. New Books in Philosophy is generally good, but some of the hosts have more of a knack for interviewing than others imo.
