Yeah, it was wild to watch. I’m sure that captain was having a rough afternoon. Glad no one was hurt…our push off from dock was delayed about 20 mins because of it, I think they were waiting for him to get past us.

Thank you, it was!! That one was peppers, mushrooms, onions and basil, and the other night I made one with prosciutto, artichokes, peppers and onions, basil. 😁

We got this! And yes, cooking helps! I made pork chops, roasted cauliflower, baked potatoes and some mac and cheese (mac not homemade but still good!), and walked for 45 mins. Just showered and ready for bed and a fresh start tomorrow.

Today was a hard day in caregiving. If any of you are caring for aging parents full time, I see you!!! It is freaking hard and it’s hard to keep my own head in a good place. But I went for a walk this evening and then cooked us some awesome pork chops, and tomorrow is a new day.

OMG how did I not think of that??? I think I was too distraught after noticing that the mint cookie crunch sundae was gone! Lol.

I really wanted a cookie. Still no kitchen or else I’d bake them. Went to Costco and bypassed them bc I do not need 24. Then went to Trader
Joe’s where I quickly learned that IT IS NOT A SAFE PLACE when you want cookies. I have now eaten too many cookies.

I got a nerve block in my shoulder before a carpal tunnel surgery and then itched my nose with that hand… the anesthesiologist was like “um, you’re no supposed to be able to move that arm. Ok, we’ll take care of that in the OR!”. I def needed more to knock me out.

Mom and I made pizza for dinner. She diced and sautéed the veggies and put them and the sauce on the crust, I did the cheese and basil. She did so great standing for that time and I know it makes her feel good to be able to help. That makes me happy. + we got good pizza!

Exactly!! There are tons of examples here in New Orleans, but the biggest that comes to mind is that we pronounce the street calliope as “cally-ope” and the instrument the calliope as a “kah-lie-oh-pee”. Same word! Pronounced differently if it’s the street or the instrument. Language is fascinating.
