Ebertfest is here in Champaign-Urbana in 2 weeks. Had a chance to talk to him when I was a videographer for the panels many years ago. He had a great sense of humor.

Feels deeply unfair that Trump voters get to affect my finances with their stupidity and not just their own. Like what if these tariffs only affected sports betting apps, Punisher skull t-shirts and court fees for missed child support payments?

Wait...isn't this Karl Marx's "to each according to his needs" motto? 😆

Yes exactly.

No one should ever initiate a convo in DM with someone they don’t know personally. Always *ASK* permission on “front street” in plain view of the person’s followers first. That’s been a rule I follow with everyone.

I remember back in the classic Twitter days how we were kept up to date on the dissension in Iran against the reigning powers. Bluesky is doing a great job on the South Korean martial law declaration .

I came onto Bluesky an hour ago, and the first two things I saw were posts providing useful context for understanding the imposition of martial law in South Korea—the exact kind of thing that Twitter used to be so useful for in a developing crisis.

Matt Gaetz withdrew to spend more time with his family. No not HIS own family, that guy over there (points) with the teen girls.

It’s wonderful to spend more energy on sharing our frivolities instead of using that energy to hand some troll or moron their ass back to them

When Obama and Biden won the GOP immediately went into opposition mode. Meanwhile the Democrats have gone into Vichy mode.

"The Netanyahu government is...rejecting a host of other priorities advanced by the United States, yet President Biden has failed to hold Netanyahu accountable - ignoring U.S. law and undercutting his own stated policies as well as America's interests and values.... we've seen Prime Minister Netanyahu repeatedly violate the terms of American security assistance, disregard U.S. priorities, and ignore our requests, only to be rewarded by President Biden."

RFK Jr. won’t be lasting very long in this administration if he’s forced to eat McDonald’s. He doesn’t look happy.

Not so sure that Bluesky likes me, hardly anyone is sharing my posts. Disappointing, I know it just started, but still, hardly any traction

Blocking Nazis, trolls, and fascists doesn’t make it an “echo chamber.” People need to stop gaslighting us into thinking we have to listen to Nazis and debate trolls in order to be informed.

Proud to say that my son was a first time voter who did not vote for Trump, but I don't think he could pick up the slack for all those men who didn't. I'm sure he'd be willing to give it the college try, though :)

We'll be a few steps removed from people blaming the "woke virus" on an actual virus they believe was caused by people who were conscious and aware of political and social issues affecting BIPOC folk. Damned Xitter idiots.

Xitter , pronounce it like “Sh” . I may have zero followers as I move here (I’m also losing Obama as a follower) but I’m migrating too.

I’m slowly transitioning to Bluesky but have to find my followers and those I followed.
