So I'm a little bit of a math nerd when I want to be, and if you ask people it's apparent when I'm filling up a car with fuel, always looking for fun things I can put on receipts.
So what did I build in my quest to find these nuggets of fun? This fucking thing: github.com/matthewgall/...
This year's theme for Halloween was Driven by Darkness: Evil on Wheels with a possessed evil motorhome talking to visitors. Lots of friendly people visiting, many compliments. Got to outdo myself next year!

π Introducing abusedb.cloud - now in public beta, designed to help developers, researchers, and security teams quickly identify the optimal contacts for hosts.
Letβs make the internet a little less hostile, one lookup at a time. πβ¨

Built this while accepting semi-retirement and bored:
@iocium/link-age attempts to discover up the age of shady domains using CT logs, DNS, WHOIS & more.
Live demo: iocium.github.io/link-age/
Coming soon to npm. Because boredom is dangerous (for others, not me)
Step one of the open source release, a library to save you reinventing the wheel and using already existing and well known favicon servers (such as Google, DuckDuckGo and Yandex)
Presenting the favicon-fetcher, for browser, node and Cloudflare Workers.
Out now on npm: www.npmjs.com/package/@ioc...
Paying for favicon services is meh, today I'm releasing iconic, an open source favicon server to allow easy website favicon identification... Try the demo at icons.iocium.net
Source will be available to run your own, or use the library to create your own!

Anyone who says solar isn't worth it gets short shrift from me. Had a 14 panel, 430W SolarEdge system installed in late July 2024. 10 months later, it's generated 3.65MWh over that time. My power bill last month was 18 quid...
To the biggest little scrappy doo since scrappy doo, it was fun. Hope you enjoy barking at postman in a better place. May you try nibble my hands always.
You know it buddy
After an unforgettable journey spanning more than a decade, my time at Cloudflare has come to an end. From joining as part of a tiny, growing startup to witnessing its transformation into a publicly traded company, the experience has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Hereβs to the next chapter!
This evening, made fuelaround.me faster and again, had to work around Tesco blocking me from receiving data from them. Supporting a new SPA for installation to your phone, check it out at https://fuelaround.me
Today, released an update to rdap.cloud to add simulated RDAP responses for legacy WHOIS providing TLDs, mainly ccTLDS who sit outside of ICANN requirements to deploy RDAP.
And like everything else I do, fully open source!

Or.... For the ultimately paranoid, paranoia.mydns.network/dns-query (no logs, no filters, no use of Cloudflare or Google upstreams)
Just open sourced my new (experimental) DNS-over-HTTPs proxy, that distributes queries to upstream resolvers so that no provider has enough data to attribute.

Or try it now by setting your browser to use freedom.mydns.network/dns-query (no logs, no filters)
Lots of DoH providers promise not to log, but blending into a crowd where no provider receives more than one or two of your queries is better!
Want to have a play? Set your browser to use freedom.mydns.network/dns-query and run a DNS leak test and check it out.
