All I did was make my pinned post here, "You may not use AI to scrape my posts." BAM. AI HATER.

Just because a man wants to keep some faint semblance of copyright.

So I stumbled on this thing and I have to give it a stream. (7 PM EST)

Mostly because I can make my own documents! There's also a game but really, I'm anxious to try and render scifi concepts or a page or two of course notes as illuminated documents.

Save yourself. If you need to burn hundreds of hours at a time, there's a whack of single-player games you can turn off at will.

I really enjoyed entertaining the little baby in Death Stranding. I did not wish to own that baby, and it was clearly not my baby, or even the protagonist's baby. My wife rather enjoyed it. I donno.

It's kind of like we're all individuals and we have a wide range of behaviours. Or something.

I read her take closely, and I simply shrugged. There's a person whose life experiences and opinions have very little overlap with mine. I shan't be following her, she won't be following me, I guess we're even then.

Nuance in opinion doesn't drive engagement metrics, I guess.

Jesus murphy, I have 1.9 gigs of assignment to download now.

(THough I'll bet one gig of that is several 4k webp animations.)

G. helpfully reminded me about "allamericanbeef" with a sort of "I told you so," look.

A snapshot of the lower part of a packet of naan. A big logo claims "CRISPY Just Baked!" But off to the right of the packet is the URL crispyjustbaked.com

Which lets us infer that the naans were not crispy, nor where they just-baked. They are from the crispyjustbaked company.

I can attest they were neither crispy, nor just-baked.

Bsky, what is the most underhanded thing you saw today?

For me, it was this packet of naan I bought. Helpfully annotated.

I just like to throw my cred around, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. I hope you see it as enthusiasm.

So I think that means I owe you a pint if we can work out that pesky ocean problem.

So I suppose I'm prepared to research it a little and write up a prospectus on how the controls might work on PC. There's a delight in clusminess sometimes, so long as it's not *too* clumsy.

But I kinda think you weren't that serious, and I'm okay with that too. Lemme get you a beer.

If that's actually a serious request, hold my beer.

I teach an intro-to-UI course amongst other things, so I'll put it to you that finger-on-screen is not so far off from plain mouse+LMB at a basic level (no complex gestures) I'm handwaving somewhat as I haven't touched Clash! (hence my PC madness)

Legit, you have joined a storied, rarified group of people who: did it your damn self.

And that's cool.

As an aside, I orated your dream to my wife, who, at the dramatic "and then I woke up" conclusion, was hooked.

I would like to be the voiceover narrator when (not if) they make this show.

But she tried her best to discourage me to go down with some sort of club and "rearrange" the car.

I see how it is. Keeping all the destructionment to herself, that's what.

Already did ages ago! I'm sure I can "encourage" some of my buddies to get a copy and then review it too.

But what can I do to convince you to bring What the Clash? to PC?

I was quick to get hold of 1000xResist (a story in game form), and these guys are on my shortlist.

What can "hair of the dog" scratch?

Well, I was looking forward to smashing up some 3D assets myself, I admit.

I think your go-to art lead is also uncertain what direction the Big Chief wants to take things. Should said Big Chief work out the very broad strokes and smash the general shape of the code, the rest will fall into place starting April 29th.

I guess it would be interest to do science to it. Maybe you should sing to yer snek about how badly you crave a turbocharger or low-profile tires and see what happens over time?

I recall that Siri was recording conversations and transmitting them, so I wouldn't be surprised if other google tools were.

Somewhat less legally fraught, I would genuinely expect google folds fold your web searches into your viewing history.

Ah, well, fair enough!

I do get the mood, I sometimes have lived off boxes of Jamaican patties, which we jokingly call "Don't Starves" in this house.

But some baby carrots and potatoes, pre-cut stewing beef, and a handful of pearl barley sees you 90% of the way to a no-effort stew.

A pack of baby potatoes, frozen (decent vegetables), some hunks of pre-cut stewing beef? The work comes from opening the packs.

At my personal lowest, I used a food processor which, for a bachelor, did a fine job of cutting and dicing and grating for me, all that was needed was cleanup.

Maybe babysteps where you throw a whack of things in a crockpot, hit a button, and come back in hours to something hearty and nourishing?

Worked for a buddy of mine in a similar predicament, for what little that might be worth.

so all I can suggest is intentionally sabotaging your profile. What's the most diametrically-opposed stuff to what they're sending you? Trucknut reviews, pro rasslin', NASCAAAAWR?

Oh. Oh!

Yeah, uhh... lordie. Umm.

I wiped out the OS on my mobile and installed Graphene, which comes with a secure browser.

If it's a youtube show I like, I use yt-dlp and download the videos to my computer, where I can watch them at will. So I realize that's not very helpful to you,

Later on, somewhere between hours to a day after I posted that, it occured to me. But I'll stand by being a damnfool.

Some kind of all-pink, anthopomorphic mouse (or bear?)/man hybrid with a very out-of-shape middle-aged-man physique.

Somebody has glued tiny googly eyes onto its enormous, blank, staring eyeball, the only touch of colour on the all-pink monolith.

I saw this thing today. Have you seen the picture? Noted the googly eyes?

Yes?

Good. Now you're the one carrying the curse.

I only go to youtube on a private tab I'm not signed in to, uBlock Origin on, and a little more beside. I get no history and no ads, and if I go to the main menu I just get random crap like murbeats or whatever-the-eff that goober's name is.

Worth a try?
