It really is a different use case. The amount of times I see Linux being advertised as "better Windows" and people getting the wrong impressions that all your stuff will just work when you switch is baffling. "seemless integration" and it's just a Windows 11 VM with extra steps

There's only so much alternatives and compatibility layers can do. Alts are great, but I find that many of them don't have specific features that my workflow uses. I'd add those features myself, but I don't code and repo issues take a while to get cleared. Layers are performance heavy always.

Yall don't be thinking about the average consumer that don't got time for all that technical knowhow. They just want a PC that just works and can get at their local Walmart or Best Buy or whatever. And if dual booting isn't an option due to organization settings, what then?
