WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE?! - Finley

And the funny part is that 1. The bags got collected today (this was a rogue one) and 2. I have been looking forward to their collection as the last couple of walks has involved us, stopping at almost every single grouping to sniff.
@muppybean.bsky.social had I gotten a photo we could have had a pretty good game of “what’s sus?” today. After having multiple groups out for the last couple of weeks, suddenly TODAY, Finley decides that ONE particular lawn bag is highly suspicious! He howled at it!
I’ve shared before about my friend, Shaun, and his son Shamus Evans’ running accomplishments. Well, yesterday they set a new American record for duos (Shaun pushes Shamus’ racing-chair) at the Boston Marathon. Together they averaged a 6:25 mile!
Two dogs sit in the grassy lawn of a front yard in front of a sign. While partially obstructed by one dog, the sign reads vote for: women’s rights, social justice, environmental protection. The dogs stoic expressions give the viewer the feeling that they are being mildly threatened.
Two dogs sit in the grass of a front lawn in front of a sign. The signs background is yellow and it has a eye in the center. Text below it reads “whatever you allow your government to do to others, they will eventually do to you.”
And we walked over to another neighborhood that has some cool signs in their yards. As dogs we try to avoid pawlitics, but I don’t know how anyone could argue with this.

I have not. To be honest, the idea of bedbug scares me a heck of a lot more than ticks.
Although like you, I will say that after I find them on the dogs or in the bed suddenly I am inspecting my own scalp much closer
Don’t worry I’ve already stripped the bed and changed the sheets. The blanket on top has had a wash and the dog blankets went through a hot cycle in the dryer
Yes - based on where it was on the bed I am guessing I missed it when inspecting the dogs and they’re on year-round flea/tick prevention so it did not survive particularly long.
What was the question of the day?
Just found a dead tick on my bed 🤢

Late afternoon it finally stopped raining and the sun came out so we put on our shoes and coats and went for a walk. 🧵

I don’t have an HOA or anything like that to worry about. I just want to make sure that the next-door neighbor is OK with it as obviously it affects the appearance of their house too, and will likely bring bugs/bees.
OK, I think I may have figured out my yard project for next year. There is a strip of land between my house and the one next-door. (Technically, I own it, but I would still ask for their permission.) I want to tear up the grass and put down wildflower seed. 🌼 🌺
Normally, I would say just put some clothes on and go out. But it is currently 38° (3°C) feels like 32° (0°C) and raining.
That just sounds miserable.

This rain is booooring 🌧️

It’s raining 🌧️ today so my “walking in the wild class” was held at the local (pet-friendly) mall! It was very exciting with people walking around and new sniffs. 🧵

Well Rory was pretty cute today. I did yardwork and he kept me company. No real pictures of Finley other than the one I already shared because he seems to be afraid of a lot of yard equipment. But he did decide to sit directly in front of me as I was planting a rhododendron
Well I don’t think it STARTED there.
Unless your questions were about the dogs. 🐶
I just pulled in out from under the band of my bra 🤢
Brushed a few off the boys after our trip to the park on Wednesday too (though that is largely due to Finley‘s decision to go on a wooded adventure)
Ohhhh what did you get?
That’s how I felt last year when I went to the eye doctor…
I had lasik 14 years ago and I guess my vision finally decided to get worse again
I may have lost my mind.
Now I’m looking at the yard going. I could reroute that downspout and put a rain barrel there and then I don’t have to worry about running the hose to water the garden…
Very very cute!
And this is Epic
The uglydogs are a group of online (and some irl) friends & supporters of writer and dog-musher Blair Braverman. One day an internet instigator told her to “go back to her ugly dogs” & since there is no way the dogs themselves are anything but perfect, the friends/fans became known as the ugly dogs
It’s sushi night! 🍣

He was actually a very good boy and calm. Coach said he’s surprisingly mellow there and lives up to his name at home.
I know I’ve introduced Epic, the agility-coach’s new border collie puppy before. Well this is her housemate and play-pal, Chaos! (Yes, together they are Epic-Chaos) He’s about 3 1/2 months old.

Finley, a light brown dog with dark brown markings, sniffs the top of a small raised gardening bed with a small leafy plant in the middle of it

The human got a new plant for me to eat in her garden and I helped plant it! She says it’s a fruit bush, a blackberry. Fruit is yummy! And she used the smelly dirt on top… 🧵

I attempted to do my own version of no scrubs. It did not turn out as well as yours.
