🚨 Why does this patient have ketoacidosis? 🚨
A 65-year-old on Jardiance has normal glucose (98 mg/dL) but anion gap metabolic acidosis before surgery.
….
This is euglycemic ketoacidosis!
#SGLT2 inhibitors should be held 3–4 days pre-op to prevent this.
