Seems like a good time to remember that Vincent Starrett’s famous poem “221B” made its first public appearance on January 3, 1943 in the Chicago Tribune.
It famously concluded with:
“Here, though the world explode, these two survive,
And it is always eighteen ninety-five.”
Former ad exec here as well. No disagreement on the Travolta ad being good. But 60 seconds? Not for the TikTok crowd. And it’s a different kind of creative brief.
