If you want to dip into SciFi, Offworlders by Chris Wolf (chrispwolf.itch.io/offworlders) is a fantastic (and free) RPG based on the PBTA class of RPGs, that is great for one-sots or longer campaigns. You even get a ship that you can upgrade :) Great game design. Simple and fun to run or play.
