I'm probably overanalyzing, but when you think about Bee in this context, and how much more corrupt Sentinel probably could've been if this is the case, it kinda gives you even less reasons to hate Bee.

I think sentinel and his government were aware of this and tried to restrict his freedoms as unsuspiciously as possible once they caught on. It might also be the reason why they brought him back alive from the seeker hideout attack.
