I know a lot of people outside of Minnesota are starting to think about what they need to do to prepare for ICE coming to their city.
Hanging out with people with good politics is a great starting place. Set a weekly thing with your friends who are as horrified as you are.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Everyone is talking about a civil war or WW3 but they're wrong. That's the wrong model. What we're actually facing is our own people standing on our necks and threatening to shoot us for complaining. This moment in history requires a second revolutionary war. It's 1776, not 1939 or 1861.
The number of people on Bluesky who think that the answer to a fascist coup of your government is to be passive... Well it's disheartening.

To recap: we’ve now seen two ICE goons point their guns at unarmed protesters heads— at protests about them shooting a woman in the head.
These guys are so out of control.
ICE apparently lacks capacity to oppress more than one city at a time.
This is performative authoritarianism.
performative authoritarianism that has killed people, yes. It’s not a joke.
But it is also incapable of any sort of meaningful authoritarian consolidation.
They lack the numbers to win.
They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.
Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.
Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.
Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.
Sure would be a shame if anything bad started happening to businesses owned by fascists. Yeah that would be terrible.

I've seen all the video footage many, many times. I've seen it so much that I feel physically ill. And the more I see it, the more I think maybe it's worth dying to stand up to this. Because I don't want to live in a world where they win.
