Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio)
Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio) YouTube video by Bruce Springsteen

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Woolley added: “We need to change the culture of science so that we’re trained to engage with the public. Not with a microphone. But with your neighbors, at the sidelines of the soccer field. When they ask, ‘What do you do?’, your answer is, ‘I work for you.’ Because science is public service.” 🧪

This is a really good, properly argued assessment of what dashboards do and (mainly) don't bring to the party.

As a passionate believer in #QualityImprovement, one thing that makes me sad is when organisations start doing things purely for the sake of regulators. Crib sheets for CQC inspections or couching change as "To address regulator feedback".

We should do things because they are right for patients.

I guess it's not surprising that our organizations and journals must lag a bit in adoption of a new platform, but they are an important part of the conversation. Let's encourage whatever we're affiliated with to take the leap. We can log them here (currently pretty sparse)

This is a great read. I'm struck by Berwick's 2013 report, the behaviour shifts he identified as needed. The questions is, 'so what?', what's changed and if it hasn't, can we start to do things differently now?

One thing I'm finding increasingly tiring about the AI in health narrative in general, but especially AI in the NHS, is the lack of specificity. The whole narrative is filled with grandiose generalised statements. What *exactly* do we want to achieve and how *exactly* are we going to achieve it?
