This is a sketchbook flip through of my current sketchbook. The paper is good for ink and bad at holding watercolor. But that makes me draw more freely. I use sketchbooks as a way to find out what I’m thinking day to day.

Excited to be finally finishing up some big drawings
“Melt, Melt”. Ink, watercolor and glue on paper. 51.5 x 29 inches.
Started at the Playa artist residency and finished at home.
Inspired by dried brown thistles, scattergories, freezing and thawing water, and how plant cells interpret light.

Possibly done… based on pond algae and underwater organic bits that I spotted looking through ice during my artist residency at Playa this January
On the walls in my studio as an AIR at Jentel. It’s been a very interesting and productive time!
Rock pics. Mostly petrified wood and one that might be burnt coal from the 1000 acres at Jentel.
Enjoying the quiet landscape at Jentel, and feeling the studio juice!
Art residency?
Heading off to my AIR at Jentel in WY! Sad to leave these in-progress drawings behind but excited for the wide open WY sky.
Found my fav flowers blooming already in the Oakland hills! Made a drawing featuring them last year, which will be in an upcoming show this year!
I’m not sure about anything. But here’s some blooming Red Currant.
Hopefully I’ll use this account to get to some videos/photos of my drawing process posted, and notes from my reading life.
