Join me in my experiment of the day - innovation is frequently informed by the real world. Look around and create an analogy by studying the processes and systems. Take notes. Reflect on relevance to your current project or problem. Find the takeaway that will guide your next step. #observe #connect
In that case, "I'd drop the ball."
Technically this picture was taken in 2025, but still this "school" year.
Grainy brown limestone slab dotted with tiny, tube‑like bryozoan fossils, each one a fossilized colony that once filtered ancient seawater.
Bryozoan fossils from my fieldwork this year. A reminder that slow, intricate structures can shape entire ecosystems. Perhaps AI will do the same for ideas: clear the noise, catch the fragile ones, and help leave behind a richer ecosystem of thought. #HuestonWoodsStatePark #Ohio
Task breakdown was for yesterday, addressing the complex layers is NOW.
DIY the aesthetic layer – posts, stories, basic graphics, rearranging the Wi-Fi devices.
Rely on a pro for the structural layer - breaking it has consequences: core branding, automation, private VLAN setup, project management.
Beautiful. I loved the idea of being gentle with our selves too when we feel rushed and stuck. Nature provides love in abundance.

When it's one of those days: Spend 5 minutes on something that’s just for future you—plant a flower or idea, stretch, ditch a habit or worry that’s not helping you bloom. Instant clarity, no watering can required. #positivity #bloom
AI Pro Daily Tip — Sometimes it's best to just step away. Go off-grid and pick up a notebook - answer this question: "What am I pretending to not know?"
AI Pro Tip: 🌀When your thoughts are in chaos, organization is your edge. Define your goal, structure your input, and keep your ideas aligned. ☑️ Ordered thinking leads to clearer, more reliable AI output. #aiessentials
How true, with GenAI to provide the background info, the human-centric critical thinking can become more creative/critical. I have the same response, when I ask for a definition and then they must provide it in their own words with an experiential comparison. Project-based wins over rote memory!
Excellence can be found everywhere. Human potential is widely distributed and discoverable in new places. Academia and science benefit from diversity of thought. Fostering global relationships is as important as providing opportunity for "local" and previously overlooked individuals to advance.
Leadership skill - audit previous decisions. Reconstruct the process for assumptions used, options available and data ignored. Evaluate the impact: what happened compared to expectations for scope, schedule, budget and relationships.
Upgrade future decisions with a rule gained from lessons learned.
A slow Sunday: warm banana muffins, coffee, and a bit of AI work humming in the background. Balance, in both carbs and code
Security is more than locks and firewalls—knowing what is worth protecting requires discipline. I've released the majority of my personal belongings twice intentionally. I still have a few mementos that feel priceless. I'm safe by knowing what I am willing to lose. That's the line I guard.
Password > passphrases: Skip "Password123"— in class today my learners cracked short junk in seconds: pick at least 4 random words that mean something to YOU - not song lyrics everyone knows. "My bicycle trombone heard around the world." Private 20+ char story? 1000s of years for a 2 minute update!
Why fear? This is an opportunity to create lessons and projects that learners engage with instead of ticking the box that we cover a topic. Using AI to be more productive - no-brainer. Creating real-world usable projects that require innovation encourages them to create and portfolio.

That being said, several of my colleagues are shifting to Patreon, I'd love to see your thoughts in comments. Feel free to follow too.
Unsurprising - in the noughties to send my writing pitches/documents to publishers in Europe, I was required to use open source and .txt files. Reminds me of the importance of open source.
AI pro tip: Save your 3 most used prompts in a note app (e.g., "Act as my research assistant . . ." or "Debug this code snippet. . ."). Copy-paste instead of retyping every time—saves 30+ seconds per use, stacks up fast. Use in your favorite AI tool.
