My toddler walked up & said in a small voice: “I want milk?”
I’m weaning her & said the milk is charging- my go to phrase to hold her at bay. Then I told her “I am NOT a Milk Maid.”
She looks at me for a moment & said. “My Milk Maid, I want my Milk Maid!” We all burst into laughter, well played.

Hank The Cowdog - The Case of the Burrowing Robot. I told kiddos about armadillos & we laughed at how funny it was that Hank didn’t recognize it & thought it was an alien robot from another galaxy.
I tidied up the house clutter, fed W, & enjoyed a restful sleep. Waking up this morning rejuvenated.
We left the park before it closed, stopping by the shop & found matching Lego PJs for F&Z.
Z fell asleep on the way home. Our family arrived home exhausted. F played video games, waiting for leftover Pesto noodles.
F&Z bathed, I showered with W. Ending our evening reading a chapter book to F&Z.
At LEGOLAND- we bought Cake Pops & French Fries as a late lunchtime snack.
The marine layer came in heavy, chilly weather soaked through our clothes. Numbing my fingers & my nose.
This visit was for the playground, we have an annual pass. Kiddos ran around with rosy cheeks & gleeful laughter.
Sunday morning seethed chaos, kiddos demanding food as I cooked. Anxiety a tight embrace amplifying my external interaction. I was sure the day was destined for dread.
We pivoted to a LEGOLAND outing. Stopped by our Aunt’s house along the way. Talked about Lunar New Year & joked about monsters.

On a humorous note- my husband’s uncle told us over a video call that our 7 week old is technically 2 years old now. Because he was born in the year of the Dragon. 🐉

Nurturing the young: I got “Feel Good Inc.” by Gorillaz as an -in game- song for my firstborn. I heard him humming it after dinner- so I started playing it in the house over speakers. He immediately exclaimed: “That’s my Fortnite song!!!” My youngest’s soothing song is “At Least We Tried” by Moby. 🫶
She gave a cute little Highlander stuffy and book to Winnie. We enjoyed a nice chat over coffee and she comforted me, reminding me that I will be going home to WA someday. (We are staying in CA to create good memories with my in-laws.) I’m homesick, even with knowing I’ll be at the ranch next week.
Linda is the godmother to my three children, and has been my rock, my safe place here for more than 13 years. She helped watch Winnie while I loaded fruit trees from her container garden, we started it together years ago, into my truck with help from Frank. They are moving to WA soon. My heart is 💔.
