“corruption is bad and there must be no consequences for it” is a darkly funny position to take i guess

Sending humans back to deep space has been good for the soul in ways I don’t think I ever really appreciated. Like, let’s go explore. Let’s push the boundaries. Let’s go see where we can go and what we can do. For all of humanity.
inviting y’all to consider helping out a couple of my former neighbors and members of the austin filmmaking community hit by a terrible cancer diagnosis, if you’ve got the resources. sometimes sharing what we can when everything seems overwhelming feels really good gofund.me/79229ff23

hey, thank you! that means a lot to me
it used to be free now it costs you a fee cuz it’s all about the dumbest shit you can possibly imagine happening for no good reason whatsoever
none of us saw it coming but it was clearly set up right at the inciting incident, expert storytelling
from a pure story perspective, it’s clear that the articles of impeachment are going to work, it has to be an equal and opposite old man and nader has been missing a third act. it’s surprising but also makes a lot of narrative sense. somebody tell god
The Artemis II mission seems good because it is.
People seem excited by it because they are.
It looks like a testament to the value of teamwork because it needs many people working together to succeed, and it’s succeeding.
One of the best things about this is how straightforward it is. Authentic.
Hello my name is Alex Goldman and I used to host the Reply All podcast. A lot of people liked that show. Now I make @hyperfixedpod.bsky.social which if you liked reply all you’d probably like well. The thing is that a lot of people who liked Reply All don’t know my new show exists.

how many members of the u.s. senate do you think are a firm no on using nuclear weapons
a diner window with “he has risen” written on it, followed by “hungry for pancakes.”

i wonder how many times they start and then have to cancel and try again because the star turns out to be kinda a dick after a day or two
how many years until anthony from jury duty season two is old enough to run for president
it makes me feel like samuel l jackson at the end of pulp fiction, explaining to other adults in their forties who use it like they were not aware of the other words they were looking for that i’m trying, ringo, i’m trying real hard to be the shepherd
my values are that young people are allowed to create slang that i don’t get and that sounds wrong to me, but the villain in me insists that we already had a word that meant exactly “so embarrassing it would make you cringe” and that word is “cringeworthy” so it is the children who are wrong
oh, i’m so sorry ♥️
yesssssss
obviously there’s a lot you could focus on, but sometimes it still takes me aback that the president says stuff like “his concerts, which suck” in his written addresses to the american people
Has anyone ever ASKED Elliot Gould (or Grover) about that day?
the funniest thing here is this guy is such an easy w that a competent fighter can take him out without ever even pausing the shit talk

i work with our interns at texas monthly and helping them shape their stories and ideas is one of my favorite things to do in the world. i am passable at helping them devise a reporting plan for a story but it is not something that lights me up. i know a lot of people who are the opposite!
writer first, had to teach myself reporting! i am decent at it now but its not where the joy in the work is for me. when i was freelance i would usually turn down basic stringer assignments unless i was broke because there is little for me in reporting if i’m not going to be writing about it later
