The policy is any project with 20% or more affordable. 100% projects are already expedited per state law.

Culver City just took 3 big steps toward more affordable homes!
๐ก legalized buying and selling ADUs
๐๏ธ created a fast track for projects with 20% or more affordable homes
๐๏ธ approved 1,077 more homes (78 for very low-income)
Lowering the voting age to 16 for local elections? Itโs more likely than you thinkโฆ
๐thanks Kenny!
Not all protected bike lanes are created equal!
Culver City just made history, and it has something to do with these big boxy fortress style apartment buildings โฆ.
It's crunchtime, folks! SB 79, our bill to legalize apartments in transit rich areas of California, is about to go up for a vote! Call, text, and email! @cayimby.bsky.social

I've watched many videos about how staircase requirements prevent us from building three-flats that historically brought gentle density to places like Chicago and San Francisco. Exciting to see my city doing something about it!
The rent is too damn high! Not building huge hallways in apartment complexes can help.
Single stair reform is coming to Culver City Council TONIGHT!
Our campaign wouldnโt have a shot if our elections had not been consolidated with the general. Holding elections in off years keeps turnout low and maintains the status quo
On the Westside, we feel this housing crisis every day.
Which is why Iโm proud that Culver City, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica have all endorsed SB-79 to allow for more homes near transit, where theyโre needed most.
Measure CL is supported by the local #CulverCity Democratic Club. Did you vote?
Measure CL is supported by a broad coalition from across the political spectrum including the @culvercitydemclub.bsky.social, Culver City Chamber of Commerce, Culver City Police and Fire, Downtown Culver City Business Association, and advocacy group @ourculver.bsky.social.
Vote yes today! โ
hey Culver City, last week you should have received a ballot in the mail with just one yes or no question.
Hereโs why you should vote โ
YES โ

I just left the Everglades Immigrant Interment Camp. No, Iโm not using their ridiculous name. It was a very tough to witness humans in those cages. Every Floridian should be ashamed that our taxpayer money is being used for this.
have the people who thought Cuomo would win because "I stand with Israel" was the top issue for NYC Dem primary voters considered that maybe they are trapped in an information bubble by getting their news through a social media platform that isn't representative of reality?
Inspiring to watch a Muslim progressive win in the most Jewish city in the country.
Weโre so much bigger than the big money PACs that try so hard to pit us against each other.
Big news! Last night, Culver City passed a budget with historic investments in:
๐ก 93 affordable homes for low income families
๐ฐ a brand new community-driven budget process
๐งโ๐ป new grant writer / sr management position for parks and rec
Culver City is moving forward!
Today some cowards in face masks harassed and detained innocent people while they were at work.
This is shameless, disgusting racism and LA won't stand for it.
We will always stand up for our immigrant neighbors.

Iโll try to grab one for you Kenny ๐
I feel like we need to keep saying this because itโs so insane: This is a legal U.S. resident who has been detained for over a month now for his political opinions.
Culver City eliminated mandatory parking by a 3-2 vote in 2022.
A redline showing the old parking mandates versus Culver Cityโs amended parking regulation: โthere shall be no minimum required parking for any use, except as may be determined through a Comprehensive Plan.โ Almost everything else is repealed.
You can draw a straight line from Donald Shoupโs effective way of sharing his scholarship with the public to policy changes in hundreds of cities.
SFA is where I got my start in transpo policy so this was quite special
RIP professor and author Donald Shoup who showed us the heavy toll we all pay when we build communities around cars instead of people. He lived to see parking minimums be abolished in much of our cities thanks to @repfriedmanca.bsky.social and Shoupโs decades of research at UCLA.

Being able to ride from Westwood to Downtown LA in 20 minutes is going to totally and permanently alter the LA psyche, self conception, mental mobility map, housing markets, social networks, and so on.
