A brown cardboard box. A small white envelope of Nvidia postcards sits on top.
I just bought a 5090 at #NvidiaGTC. What have I done?

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia says, "Inference has become the most compute-intensive phase of AI — demanding real-time reasoning at planetary scale. Together, NVIDIA and Akamai are moving inference closer to users everywhere, delivering faster, more scalable generative AI and unlocking the next generation of intelligent applications."
Exciting! Akamai Inference Cloud with Nvidia is effectively extending the AI factory to the edge of the internet. This is the next logical step for cloud computing, and it’s a transformation we are uniquely positioned to lead. #AIinference #AIfactory
In one hour, I'll be at the Wiz booth to talk about Wiz integration to Akamai Cloud and how they helped with our multicloud infrastructure for our own products. #KubeCon
Just sat down for the keynote at KubeCon. Stop by the Akamai booth (N160) after if you want to catch up. #KubeCon
Locating compute near power is a constraint, but the real goal, the vision, is to bring compute to the users.
@squillace.bsky.social holding court at KubeCon India right now talking about web assembly with SpinKube (@fermyon.com )
Good morning, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon India.
I suck, but it's so much fun.
Their geek out led to more ideas from me. We were completely in a "yes, and" state of mind. Every time we hold back and don't share, we're killing ideas. Don't apologize -- they should thank you.
Sometimes I get really excited about tech and its potential -- but only sometimes. I just received an email from a colleague talking about all of the things that might be true in the future. They apologized for geeking out. DON'T APOLOGIZE. We should allow ourselves to geek out more.
Sideloading is a horrible term. We don't call installing apps outside of the Windows or Apple stores (on macOS) sideloading. Does it allow malware? Yes. Even active scanning and digital sigs aren't foolproof. However, gatekeepers extract a fee and small apps are hit the hardest. 🤷🏻♂️
Why doesn't Microsoft let us sideload it for now? Oh, it's because it undermines the court case.
"Why pay $15 for pad thai when you can pay $45 for the ingredients to cook a worse pad thai?"
There are a combo of things going on -- undervalued time, underestimated effort, stopgaps and layers of band-aids that hide the toil, business case limbo.
It's a 24/7 patrol.
Suzanne Hayes wrote a fantastic summary and companion piece based on my interview with SiliconANGLE & theCUBE at #KubeCon. Click through to read it and reach out if you have any questions.

Not "Challengers." "Contenders" is the better word. Each can have their own place.
We launched some edge VMs this year. The feedback from customers is that containers were a better solution. Elasticity and portability are a priority. Challengers? Wasm, Hyperlight
Excellent doc. I spend a lot of time thinking about how to enhance on-prem apps with #edgecomputing. Modernizing those on-prem apps with these concerns and approach in mind makes that a lot easier.
Old enough to remember #FollowFriday. So here goes:

It was great meeting @swapnil.bsky.social at Kubecon in SLC last week to talk about what Akamai is doing to simplifying k8s, distributed computing, and, of course, AI.
When building any products for developers and engineers, it's important to keep this quote in mind.
"Simple things should be simple and complex things should be possible." - Alan Kay
Excited about Avesha joining Akamai Qualified Compute Program. Simple & optimized #Kubernetes deployments on Akamai with KubeSlice, SmartScaler & KubeTally. Smoother ops, happier devs! #CloudNative #Avesha #Akamai
