I also discuss in this podcast episode the delight of seeing in the same TV show 3 of my TV heroes growing up in the 70s - Peter Purves from Blue Peter, Brian Cant from Play School, Play Away, Trumpton & Camberwick Green and Nicholas Courtney, the Brigadier in Pertwee era Doctor Who.

It's hard to know what was intended as Galt made all sorts of glass products, windows obviously but all sorts. The thing they were best known for, though, I think was corrugated/ribbed glass, much prized by grandmothers for door windows and memorably featured in Spearhead from Space.

Hi Jonny. I had a set of these translucent plastic construction pieces in the 1970s, but there seems to be a suggestion that they might date to the 60s. I wonder if this is the Galt Glass mentioned in The Traitors? The cylindrical pieces have vertical slots that connect with the square pieces.

I've realised since watching #DoctorWho DMP 1&3 that although I've had high expectations for the story, it's generally been based on the opinions of others, rather than something I felt viscerally. Since being blown away by these two returns, however, it's something I now understand for myself.

Of course, even on a morning like this there's a part of me that says "shame they chose a picture from Devil's Planet to illustrate The Nightmare Begins!" Wouldn't be a Doctor Who fan otherwise.

Watching The Nightmare Begins and Devil's Planet reminded me of the first time I watched missing episode returns - Evil 2 at Panopticon in 1987. Nearly 40 years ago, but still fresh in the mind. Watched a lot of classic Doctor Who for the first time since then, but a missing return is always special

Well, The Nightmare Begins was excellent, Day of Armageddon now has context and Devil's Planet was a real treat. Thank you @filmisfabulous.bsky.social. Hope everyone has fun at the screening tomorrow.

We just published the 150th episode of Something Who on @podbean.bsky.social. Naturally things have got a bit complicated, so it's actually numbered 127. But Podbean has been keeping count, so there must have been 149 others.

It's easy to mock, but photos show that they made a decent job of making a giant crab. Arguably realised more successfully than a similar creature 20 years later in Paradise Towers.
