opinions, expectations, and the pressure to conform. Amid life's apparent randomness, bounded by our own initial and boundary conditions, what steers us forward?"

Fearing ICE, parents make plans for their children’s care Some families give legal authority to others to make key decisions about a child’s life if a parent is detained and deported.

Some immigrant parents, fearful of their children facing similar uncertainty if they were to be arrested, detained or deported are taking the extreme step of legally transferring parental authority to teachers, co-workers, fellow parishioners and neighbors.

2nd day of final exams for Fall '25 at UNC and buildings are *locked* as they are usually on weekends. You'd think somebody from the Registrar Office would have called Campus Facilities to let them know finals are scheduled today and thousands of students are coming into their regular classrooms

Remembering Black Veterans Targeted for Racial Violence in the U.S. Honoring those who fought abroad for our country, and at home for equality and justice.

This #VeteransDay, EJI acknowledges the plight of many Black veterans who, instead of being treated as honored members of society upon their return from service, were often attacked, lynched, mistreated and abused.

Brick walkway lined with yellow leaved ginkgos

Was sprinting across campus earlier in the week and this view stopped me in my tracks. Between the music and art buildings—pure gold.

I almost missed this. What made you stop and smile this week?

Here’s to finding more moments of lightness and joy (and maybe even gold!). 💛
