You need it even if you’re empty !!!

So

To leave the U.K. you need

ICS2
ELO
MRN ( T1 / carnet etc )

Then this Barcode on the ELO is put onto a port pass that allows you to board the train or boat

Great eh

The paperwork is getting crazy now

By entering commodity codes - and a description of every good - they know what’s coming in

Don’t forget - post brexit trade deals can involve importing things into the U.K. that are banned in the EU - rejoining the customs union would theoretically eliminate the new paperwork .

ICS 2 is a French safety and security Dec - you must list everything being carried - along with commodity codes - this is then entered onto an ELO ( French import system ) **alongside **your customs declaration ! - the driver needs to do this . And it’s all in French . A ballache

Remember all those years ago I said the EU would want to know what we are sending into the bloc once all those “ trade deals “ were signed ?

Well …

The new customs rules for **anything** travelling in a van or truck now needs declaring - it’s called ICS2 - and is aimed at the U.K. ..

I said this years ago - I said it’ll be the end of the free movement of goods and people . You would need to prebook a departure . Forget urgent last minute consignments . Thing of the past .

It is getting harder to leave this wonderful island full of flags

And of course - no barcode - no travel

So I’m sat at home unable to leave or book a train as I don’t have to barcode .

Brexit Britain

It’s like a bloody prison

New ICS2 rules

From yesterday ALL vans trucks and trailers need to complete it to leave the U.K. . Without it you can’t leave .

Submitting it is one thing

Waiting for a barcode back from the French ?

Not only do you have to list the time of departure - which is no good if you can’t leave

Well apart from having to either establish your company in Europe or register with them for an EoRI - there’s also a much more complex paperwork issue to contend with

And this is from the French customs

Brexit benefits . It’s certainly getting harder

Import Control System 2 Advance cargo information system designed to improve security in the international transportation of goods and supply chain operations.

I can’t understand why this hasn’t had any traction in the media - it’s a BIG thing . Anyone and everyone travelling by road needs this in 4 weeks on paid work .

Any they’ll also need an EU EORI ..

And guess what

Hardly anyone here is prepared

Read it . It’s a headfuck

Brexit eh ..

Not just this - but house moves or anything that doesn’t move on a T1 etc
It’s out of uk scope as an EU thing .

Ends on 01/09 …. Unless something replaces it - can’t do Dec by conduct unless your own goods

8 months ago 1 0 1 0

In a nutshell :
The goods are owned by the same company - its empty packaging . It’s simply returned back to France - then back to the U.K. . In order to carry on doing this post sept 1st - they’ll have to keep “buying “ it back or “selling “ it to themselves just to cross the border …

This is how crazy Brexit is

For 6 years I’ve transported goods from the Uk -EU for the same customer in both countries.they own the goods . They have no commercial resale value . From 01/09 they are going to have to “sell” the goods back to themselves every week for customs . And pay for it ..

Absolutley anything and everything travelling by road will need this come September.

One agent in the uk I spoke to said no one’s ready - and still training for it - he simply called it a nightmare

In short -if you can’t do this in a month then your goods will Not leave the uk .

Incase you thought the Windsor framework reduced the customs formalities for NI … erm no it didn’t . It’s about to get more challenging for some come September …..

As for outbound freight - well that’s about to change for the worse including anyone moving house …

01/09/2025

All outbound freight not only needs customs / carnets etc

The company transporting the goods now needs to do an ICS2 declaration - then an ENS coming in

The ICS is a ballache - currently by looks of it accessible by French agents .

Good luck sending goods out from 01/09
