I designed them 😅 so really hoping they sell well!
All shirts come in two versions - one with a front print of the model organism, or the “SDB Logo Tee” version, where the print is on the back and the SDB logo is on the front left chest, like in our H. sapiens shirt, which you can find here: sdb-official-merch.printify.me/product/2781...
New zebrafish shirt from the SDB
I’m obviously partial to this lil guy @zebrafishrock.bsky.social
Examples of the new model organism shirts for sale on the SDB merchandise website
Excited to share that @socdevbio.bsky.social has a new and improved merch store! Rep your fav model organism in one of the Society’s new original designs 🤗 sdb-official-merch.printify.me

Had a blast at #IZFC2025 🐟🧪 Was great to get feedback on my work and hear about the cool research everyone is doing. Continuously grateful to have joined such a positive research community! 🎉
My F32 NOA
Grateful for at least 3 more years of science and truly appreciate of everyone at NIDDK who kept this moving despite the clusterfuck that is our government right now 🎉 stay tuned for more pretty fish images and ideally some insights into polarity and migration 🐟 🧪

Can’t wait to see everyone at SDB this week! Excited to give a talk in Thursday morning’s Cell Polarity session 🐟 🧪 #devbio
“Fate map?! Sounds like a video game!” - my husband
This is how we need to be pitching dev bio yall

I would love to represent the postdoc/trainee community - our voices are important, and I’d make sure to bring our ideas to the table!
It’s a scary time to be an early career researcher, and I really feel that on top of doing great science at the bench, we should be out there doing great science communication in both formal and informal settings!
Hi Society for Developmental Biology friends! I’m excited to be running for SDB’s board of directors for their PostDoc rep seat - ballots just went live! If elected, I am hoping to focus on scientific outreach and bringing the public back to our side, scientifically. #devbio 🧪

give us this day our daily fish

Anyway here’s a picture of a zebrafish I took through the eyepiece of a microscope today because despite all this horrific bullshit I’m still really into how an embryo became an embryo #devbio 🧪
Developmental biology has merit on the facts that every single one of us has to develop to exist. Not all of us get cancer or heart disease! Frankly, it’s a failure of our community that we haven’t made this point to the general public.
I am tired 😭
I do not WANT to make my devbio proposal read like a cancer proposal to get funding now that the NIH is trashed. Why don’t we have an American Neonatal Society that funds dev bio the way ACS funds cancer research? Like you can’t tell me we don’t care about improving neonatal health in this country!
Scientific advances like vaccines make us healthier and save lives - almost all of them are funded by the NIH. It’s a great time to support science, to support not dying, and to make your voice heard by calling your congressperson. 2/2 www.votervoice.net/mobile/APAAd...
In a time where antivax sentiment is causing a rise in preventable illness, my 84 year old grandfather shared this piece of history when I visited this weekend - he spoke about how people lined up in droves in NC to get vaccinated against polio. 1/2
I will, but dang. Has been rough half decade to be a trainee
Good news, the F32 I spent months working on got an impact score of 20! Bad news:
Like what is even the point of anything anymore… 🧪 #devbio
Yes but managed to get cells everywhere except my tissue of interest 😭 Vangl2 in the nervous system is so pretty though!

Postdoc’s first blastula to blastula transplant 😍 all the thanks to @vprincelab.bsky.social’s teaching and experimental help 🐟 #devbio 🧪🔬
Thanks Becky! It’s nice to have finally gotten the hang of imaging 🐟
A lot going on in the world, a lot going on in this fish
#devbio 🧪🐟🔬
