First week of HM training, so lots of easy running with strides… but today’s were 200m strides with 90s rest rather than the usual 15 secs on / 45 secs off Coros gives me. Fun, but definitely a bit spicier!

Wasn't needed as a helper at Stride to Five tonight, so went for a run instead... ran a nice 5km round St Asaph, includung up my favourite steep Redhill. Like a club night, but alone so with no stopping! 29 minutes for a hilly 5.27 km... happy with that!
Only heckled once, in the middle of a 15 second sprint as part of a set of strides. A young teenager started running alongside but couldn't keep up and shouted "I'll kick your ass!!" as I waved back to him. Funny thing is, if he'd just held on for five more seconds I'd slowed down for the rest.
Plus as a bonus, the weather is gorgeous! Beautifully chilly.
First day of half marathon training block. Easy run with strides - managed to keep my heart rate below 140 for 40 minutes, running at 7 mins per km which is about as slow as I can go and have it still feel like running. Then did some fast strides to stretch the legs out!
You showed up, and you persevered. If I were a hat-wearing man, you can consider all my hats taken off.
Well done! A six minute PB? With crampy calves? You definitely should be celebrating! It may have been hard, but you carried on. Brilliant job.
@disquiet.bsky.social I think these photos are right up your street! I know they are up mine!
Took a decent swig out of it, too! 🤣
Cheers! 😁 A bit in shock, to be honest. I would have been happy with 25:30, really didn't think I had that much in the tank.
Nova Prestatyn parkrun this morning, PB attempt. My cousin's partner very kindly agreed to pace 25 mins for me... thanks to him I absolutely smashed my PB and got my first ever sub-25 5km- with a time of 24:45. That's 54 seconds knocked off my previous PB, set 28th Feb. Delighted!!
You mean you made it all the way to the top of the stairs without your knees complaining? Good job! 😉
Tried 'The Andy' this morning... [ 1km at 5km pace, 1 min rest, 400m at 1500m pace, 3 min rest ] repeated 4 times.
Boy was that a workout! Good fun though. The last three runs were into a stiff breeze so a little slower than intended, but the effort was the same. Will be doing that again!

That's me in a corner.
Wow, that is incredible!!
I have a spreadsheet I made which has a tab each with audio and midi routing matrices. When I put a '1' in the cell to indicate two things are linked, the colour changes to bright green, and the cell next to the input / output name changes colour to indicate it is connected.
It's never easy. Always takes a good few extra hours to rewire than you estimate!
Love these etchings, so much movement and mood. I can feel the dip and swell in those seascapes, the rush and chill of the wind in the storm, and hear the flap of wings over muffled footsteps in the snow.
A fine, handsome chap.
Mersey Tunnel 10km yesterday: Previous 10km PB back in 2012 was 58:07. Started training aiming for 55 minutes. Managed a 54:55 in training… absolutely smashed it with a 53:28 chip time! Delighted!
I came in 982nd place, which is not bad out of 3514 finishers!
Ready for the morning!
Great city- and great to see you out and about again.
I'm also in Liverpool currently, going to be running through the Mersey Tunnel to New Brighton tomorrow morning with 4000 other runners!
Stunning!
Had the privilige of being the 29 min pacer at Nova Prestatyn parkrun this morning. Came in at 28:55 so not far off pace. Had a few people aiming for a sub-30, so while they weren't running with me for long, they thanked me for helping them reach their PBs, using me as a target. It was my pleasure!

Finished my 10km training this morning & hit 1000 km since I started running again in August.
Will be 29 min pacer at Nova parkrun tomorrow, then have my first race in 14yrs on Sunday morning! Goal 55 mins. I feel ready, able, and excited!
A week off, then the HM training starts, ready for June.
