for the whole person to exist; that can and does extend beyond transition itself, and exists in dimensions far beyond that simple binary on/off switch so much media defaults to.

Specifically, I mean that Murdock's structure maps clean onto a transition narrative but starts to strain if you try to move the transition anywhere other than the end. The model I'm sketching structures itself around the alienation from femininity as the initial condition that must be surmounted

So the integral person has to be CONSTITUTED. There is nothing to be recovered; the self is being still being forged.

What's neat is that it doesn't assume transition as an endpoint, which I think is sort of built into a trans application of Murdock's original structure.

But trans stories want to begin in that fracture, the exile from the feminine that is an external imposed condition. In that sense, the story is *essentially* about the movement *toward* the feminine as the fullest integrated person.
