I'd also give the game a perfect score.
One of the really cool things about emulators is that you can map L and R to R1 and R2 on SNES, PSP and Dreamcast, and L and R to Y and X on GBA and have a much better time playing fighting games that way.
And also play the Game Cube version of CVS2 with a MUCH more appropriate controller.

Screenshot of A place further than the universe showing the PonyStation plugged in and playing the aforementioned Penipeni Winter, a game remarkably similar to Puyo Puyo.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max on PSP, it's the best, most complete version of Alpha 3!
I think it might be my favourite Capcom fighting game along with Capcom Vs SNK 2...
Screenshot of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. Chun Li, clad in pink, stands victorious over M.Bison.
Because I can't control myself, I did it again, and my gosh, they put a reverse dramatic battle at the end of Chun-Li's arcade run! Well, before the Bison fight that is...
I STILL Beat Bison first try though! But I used 8 continues this time... At least half of which against Ingrid xD
Y'know... I read "Door of dreams" and my mind drew a blank...
Then I translated it to Japanese in my head and immediately it clicked in my head "Yume no tobiraaaa~🎵"
It's like that for me with A LOT of JP music, I only learned their Japanese names...
Screenshot of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. Maki stands victorious over Bison, the last two digits of the score are 02, meaning I only used 2 continues.
Default difficulty, only 2 continues, and I beat both Guy and Bison on my first attempt... Folks, am I getting better?!?!
We need more movies like this... Maybe then I'd actually get interested in watching a movie again...
Playing fighting games back-to-back on my new handheld and on the PC REALLY puts into perspective something I already knew but was ignoring for the longest time...
My controller's D-Pad is $#!t!
I do spinning-bird-kicks, double QCFs and HCBFs SO Much More Consistently on the handheld...
DDR was after Beatmania, and Turtles in Time was better on SNES, Contra was better on NES...
I mentioned this in another response, but I realise now that a lot of their big arcade hits were more relevant in the west, whereas a lot of their home hits stayed in Japan...
Beatmania was late '97 but yeah, they had arcade hits, though I now realise that a lot of those were more relevant in the west.
What doesn't register to a lot of western folks is how much more of a big deal Konami were at home given how many of their home hits stayed in Japan...
Let's be real here, most of Konami's best efforts early on were at home, on consoles and the MSX... The odd exception aside, they didn't REALLY start popping off in the arcades 'til Beatmania...
I love these kinds of old games where I'm supposed to beat them in one sitting, but I don't cuz they're hard...
Like, for one, they don't feel like a commitment to boot up, I just play as much as I feel like, and for two, when I DO beat them it feels like an accomplishment!
Screenshot of the ending of Cratermaze on TurboGrafx-16. The characters are lined up below the word "END". "Thanks for playing with us! See you next time!!" says the dialogue bubble at the bottom.
FINALLY Beat Cratermaze!
I dunno why I never beat it before... Was it because I was bad at it? Or was it because I never put in the time to sit through it properly?
I dunno, but this game is delightful! The music in particular is absolutely lovely~❤️
But it may overstay its welcome a bit...
A quick heads up; The UK government is currently holding a consultation on the Online Safety Act. The consultation lasts until the end of next month.
Please fill it out if you live in the UK and/or share it around to get more eyes on it.

Screenshot of YouTube video "Umamusume but it's Musume Pretty" Basically, the girls aren't horses.
Yeah, this looks A LOT more appealing imo...
Coincidentally, I was just playing Gradius 2 today! (PCE CD port)
Bit of a perplexing series huh... Like, the MSX games have the same names but are completely different than the arcade games, and then there's like, Salamander, Nemesis and Life Force and like, where does everything fit in?!?! xD

This is about America, not alpha kids worldwide...
Here's the thing right... A scary number of US adults are illiterate, or barely literate... And they're homeschooling their kids... And that's Bush and Reagan's fault btw.
Y'know... If you REALLY Need a dedicated piece of hardware to play Neo Geo games THAT Badly, just go on AliExpress and get whichever Pandora's Box you fancy for much cheaper, all while not giving your money to the Saudi regime...
Otherwise, you can emulate all that $#!t on a potato...
Screenshot of Street Fighter 2 on Super Nintendo. Chun Li stands atop a first place podium, doing her iconic peace sign, while surrounded on both sides by M. Bison (or Vega/Dictator) and Sagat, on second and third places respectively. "Thanks for playing!! Presented by Capcom" says the text on the top and bottom of the screen.
Was in the mood, for reasons...
Off-screen photo of Dragon Quest 2, Game Boy version. "Prince Hime, did you get all that?" says the king. "Hime" means princess in Japanese.
I do what I can...
This handheld can probably handle the runahead, but I'd rather not introduce lag than mitigate it, and maximise battery life in the process.
On the PC on the other hand, I'd rather not use retroarch at all, stand-alone emulators are much better.
Off-screen photo of Magical Pop'n on Super Nintendo. You can see faint scanlines.
Off-screen photo of Super Mario World on Game Boy Advance. You can see a faint LCD grid.
Was experimenting a bit with shaders, turns out shaders add noticeable input lag, so I went back to good ol' filters, voila! I can get scanlines and LCD grids with no noticeable added lag!
Now I just wanna put the "Game Boy Advance" words beneath the game image to fill out the 4:3 screen...
I foolishly thought for but a moment this was over what he's doing in-and-around Iran, but no, of course not, it's over a slop image he posted... Siiiiigh... America needs to end...

They got IIDX Sparkle Shower, Nostalgia, Chunithm, Mai Mai and so on~ I hope they get SDVX soon so we don't have to travel to Australia or Japan to play it xD
Gosh, I can't wait to move in with her... We'd 120% go on arcade dates together uwu
But heck, even my naff local arcades finally got Taiko!
Yeah, Konami, and other JP amusement vendors, are FINALLY opening up to the global markets due to arcades stagnating in Japan after Covid! As such, there's A TON of new machines popping up all over the place! The city my gf lives in recently got AMAZING for Arcade rhythm games!
Back in my day (lol) no mainstream news media would EVER dare airing an article like this... It was always all about how "Vidja Gaymes are RUUUUINING Them Kids!!"
Welp, nice to see them not slagging on my autistic special interest for once...

I agree, though I've yet to play on a full-size controller or real machine... But even on my pocket voltex, the combination of 6 buttons and 2 knobs make for a fantastic rhythm game experience unlike any other! Rhythm games benefit more than any other genre from tailor-made controllers!
Cool stuff! Did one for rhythm games:
Where's the rhythm game fans on this bloody site?!?!
