My friend - who knows nothing about football - was in a study group with a nice bloke called Vinny when he did his business MBA in Manchester about 15 years ago. When autograph hunters approached them in a city centre cafe, Vinny casually explained he was the captain of Manchester City.

i am a neutral and i want arsenal to win the league because human rights abusing petrostates are worse than annoying fans, and i don't understand how this isn't a consensus opinion.

In the story of Humpty Dumpty it is never said that he is an egg. However, it is never said that he is NOT an egg. This means that any character in ANY story could be an egg unless explicitly stated otherwise. Keep that in mind when you read a Jack Reacher novel

Screen Two Landmark productions from some of the UK's greatest creative talents, as first seen in the 1980s and 1990s - part of the BBC's rich archive of classic drama.

I'm always bleating on about Play for Today & similar anthology formats & how important they are for television- so this is a public service announcement that there are 13 archive episodes of Screen Two currently on iPlayer:

So what you're saying here is - I'm just thinking out loud, so bear with - what you're BASICALLY saying ... in a nutshell ... is that Nigel Farage made a promise that has turned out to be utter, hollow bullshit? Am I onto something?

@rbgkew.bsky.social @gardenersworldmag.bsky.social Hi there. Quick question - what are these raised deposits/markings on my houseplant? They are quite attractive in their colour and uniformity, but are they problematic? Thank you in advance!

I absolutely loved Robert Redford. Up there with Lemmon, Stewart and Peck on my definitive, laminated, gilt-edged all-time list. A brilliant actor, a nuanced director, and - let’s cut to the chase - a ridiculously handsome man, who aged very naturally and VERY gracefully. The best.

Hey Mark, I have the dubious pleasure of owning Ait-Nouri, Palmer, Saka, Wirtz and Watkins. Happy-ish to stick with the last two, but would you suggest a -4 (two frees and a third transfer) or a WC? Thank you in advance.

That's true. I've got Rogers for the same reason.

Looks good - well balanced. You prefer Watkins over Wood (and have avoided the double Spurs attack with Solanke). You worried that Emery doesn't seem quite convinced by Watkins? Perhaps a good place holder for Ekitike or Gyokeres?
