Season 5 premieres tonight and I think it's the best one. It is incredibly hard to make a comedy this good for 5 seasons (and do it in 5 consecutive years). I'm so sad I won't get to watch this show anymore, but I feel endlessly grateful to have gotten to watch them make it. You're gonna love it.

Hacks changed their lives but it also changed mine. I got to see first hand what it's like when incredibly hard working people work everyday to create art they deeply love. It made me a better writer and a better friend. I'm endlessly thankful to have that lesson.

And they did it while standing up for what they believed in. They were the very first showrunners to announce that even though the show had been written, they wouldn't go into production while writers were on strike. It was a terrifying decision, and I was so proud of them.

In 6 years, I cannot remember them getting into a single real disagreement or fight. As much as they get credit for accurately depicting stand ups, they deserve equal credit for depicting what it means to have a true creative partnership with friends you love.

I learned so much about creativity and friendship by watching Jen, Paul, and Lucia make Hacks. They worked 15hr days, 7 days a week to make a show this high-quality every year. Yet they still put everything on hold to fly across the country to be at my father's funeral.

The premiere for Season 1 of #Hacks was a car mandatory screening in the Rose Bowl parking lot during covid. People were encouraged to honk their horns at the moments they were laughing.

Five seasons later, it's ending with Variety calling it "one of TV's best comedies ever."

It’s legit crazy this is a true stat. Like in 77 years? No woman has been good enough more than twice????

That’s the look of absolute terror at having to speak in a public forum

In 77 years of #Emmys, only male writers have ever been to win more than twice? That seems… bad??

But Jen Statsky and Lucia Aniello could be the first this year. @goldderby.com www.goldderby.com/tv/2025/luci...

“He was secretly trying to say something about America!”

(Watched Uncle Sam say “this is too ghetto.”)

Ohhhh, I didn’t realize!

“Did you know the Super Bowl halftime show ACTUALLY contained secret metaphors about the state of our country?”

It literally opened with Uncle Sam and an American flag dance, so… yes?

Feel like there might be a better way to structure checks and balances since the House and the Supreme Court have become unmanageable.

I forget what podcast I'm stealing this from, but they made the point that people don't trust the govt bc the parts of the govt they deal with all the time (Post Office, DMV, IRS) are all nightmares. It doesn't matter that GOP defunded them. People just see a bureaucratic hell.
