I have never gotten genuinely angry at this game until this LC. Following this loss, I continued faceplanting into every conceivable piece of jank this game has to throw at you. Many losses were my fault, many more were completely out of my control, but I eventually made it back.
My climb, however, showed me just what hitting rock bottom in LC feels like. I had a very consistent and steady climb to the 2100s, peaking at 2129. Just as I was about to close out one last game to park at 2130+...
Disaster.
This one moment sparked a 110-point losing streak.
Placed 64th in LC4 for CrossWorlds, my very first LC T100 placement!
This was the first time I've made a serious attempt to shoot for the top, and it was a lot of fun! Even with items continuing to be this game's biggest drag, DRE meta is incredibly fun and rewarding.
Y'all ever love whenever a fan voice actor becomes so interwoven with a character that you cannot separate them mentally? I've been thinking about Vivian Reed's Surge a lot lately. I cannot see anyone else voicing her atp. Hearing her get an official voice is gonna be so jarring.
First time I've ever tried to grind one of these out and it's actually been a lot of fun so far! I'm sat at just over 2100 rn, my current Legend Comp PB! Hoping this'll be enough for T100 in the coming days. ๐ค

Hopped on briefly to test out DHedge's new Sky Sanctuary mod for Sky Road and ended up coming out with a WR for the track on SSS ๐ญ
First WR I've scooped up in this game since October! Sometime soon, I'd love to properly get back into TTs while DRE meta is still blossoming.

Dude double Ring Engine is so cracked I GOT COMPLETELY HATE CRIMED LAP 3 and still had 1st locked ๐ญ
Breakaways like this happen way more often than with UC meta because the stat difference is just *that* significant. You still get destroyed by items if u can't item manage but most of my races ended looking like this from pure frontrunning alone ๐ญ
One thing I really love about the new Ring Engine meta is that you can absolutely tell who's using it and who isn't
Which leads to unhinged final laps like these where two or more RE stackers break FARRRR away from the pack and start CLAWING AT EACH OTHER TO THE DEATH

I've talked about it a ton recently but this project is ridiculous. You can actually just play custom level packs in browser and there's custom character spritesheet support now. This is very quickly becoming my favorite way to play SMB1/2.

Naturally I have been hauling ass on getting more SMB characters in on the action.

A brand new foundation mod project for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, overhauling the sound effect banks of (almost) every DLC character in the game! This project will be progressively updated to support more characters, both current and future!
I do appreciate that they experiment with rulesets and stuff, but the meta is so rigid that a lot of these ideas are just kind of dead on arrival, as good as the intentions are. Hopefully this is providing the devs with good data to see how to shift things moving forward.
