It’s not completely transparent. My oils are bonded into the beeswax surface. They retain their brilliance, and should be fine for durations since beeswax has the best preservation qualities.

I like the way my original composition gets destroyed by heat in pleasing ways. Try coating a panel with beeswax/damar. Do a layout drawing in transparent red. Then heat that over lightly to fuse it in. Color in with oils then fuse in again (outdoors, with protection from the fumes).
