Can sympathize here. Portland’s schedule has been a burden, even if it’s not as heavy as that murderer’s row.
If you’re willing, do you have a broad theory on what’s ailing Orlando this season? I’m not sure what I expected from them in 2026, but it very much wasn’t this.
holy yikes.
Not a huge Tim Kaine fan, but into the crazy uncle look.
The main things I’m looking for in tonight’s (hot) #MLS action:
1) Whether any one of Columbus, Cincy, Philly, Atlanta or Orlando can win their (admittedly) tough games.
2) If Miami can ace its Western road swing.
3) Will San Jose get ahead in the Shield race by one point, 3 points or not at all?
Subconscious put in a strong shift last night, starting with the groaning remains of a man who had been killed a hundred times but never died, and me collecting my blanket from a gay orgy and them setting me up with a bike.

just seeing where people land on lettuce. And going through a Jethro Tull moment, apparently.
Do we have a strong opinion on types of lettuce?
The latest half-perverse callback obsession, fwiw. I don’t know what’s happening to my brain…

A bit shocked/relieved, but could be because monuments are generally reserved for people who have accomplished something.
Finally got through The Clash’s Sandanista. Started on Sunday. Long fucker. #Musicsky
not unfair by any means, but…ouch.
I’ll push the theory in a later plug, but the San Diego game feels like the Timbers’ best shot at getting unexpected points.🤞
Same. Pulling for a higher number, but I don’t anticipate much for movement. If the Timbers don’t beat SKC…🤮
I looked forward to see if the schedule lightens up before the (cursed) World Cup break and I didn't see much for relief. These are the games thru the end of May:
at SD, at RSL, v SKC, at MTL, at MIA, v SJ
How many points do you see Portland getting from that run? Four? Six? 18?😀 #rctid (4/4)
...which is why the first talking points focus on Portland's sputtering collection of points. As every fan knows and feels, the Timbers have just 7 points from their first 8 games. That's not too surprising in context - i.e., tough schedule, less than tough team - but it's also not good. #rctid 3/4
One final note on the game itself: Minnesota did a good job of getting on Jose Caicedo in the first half and he struggled with it. Per the note in the post, I'm not disappointed with Caicedo - every gets a honeymoon - but getting the space secured is big for Portland's 2026 prospects... (2/4)

Ya, howdy, that’s the world right now.
Till tomorrow. #Musicsky

The post includes talking points, large and small, but I want to close this first plug on a question that seems singular and unsolvable at the same time:
How does the brass unfuck what's going on with Antony?

"If [Phil's] message for the attacking third is 'express yourself,' that same message needs to be communicated to the players who don't have the ball. A good run off the ball... counts as a form of expression."
Right? #rctid #MLS (3/4)
"If I had to describe this game to an alien (or just a human person who asked me about the game), I’d go with Minnesota simply did everything a little better than the Timbers."
Fwiw, I think this issue goes beyond this weekend's loss. [doing the sarcasm thing.] #rctid (2/4)

Getting below SKC will take a lot of fucking up - and they’d have to stop fucking up to let us catch up - but we’re definitely closer to that than the other end…
Running neck and neck with Orlando for place and show after a runaway SKC team, going great…
…also I no longer remember my dreams.

And how demoralizing are Phil Neville’s plug-n-play post-game quotes? I know he watches the game because he performs coaching like a boss, but I’m not sure he’s watching any more closely than my stoned ass. #rctid
Not great, obviously, but neither as bad or as hopeless as expected.
The incredible thing: I don’t think any Timber besides Velde, maybe Bassett, played an actually good game.
A lot of disconnected adequacity out there last night. Feels like a theme. #rctid
