At least it sounds like the system/process went wrong? Which doesn't make things okay at all. But glad to know this is not the system working as intended.

Could absolutely be wrong on this, but it's what I recall from people who do know this stuff talking about previous defamation cases in federal court.
Not a lawyer, but my understanding is that there is no defamation cause of action on the federal books, when defamation cases are in federal court is a matter of state (or DC) law, including the Anti-SLAPP if there is one.
It is in federal because of diversity jurisdiction, not the governing law.
DC has an Anti-SLAPP law, so this should absolutely be dismissed before it gets to discovery.
Honestly my favorite part of it. He does the wrong math, wrongly.
Basically Trump is thinking (theoretically) that the relation between $10 and $50 could be called 20% or 500%, and big numbers sound more impressive.
But "reduced" defines the base value. There is no ambiguity, and saying 500% reduction is so wrong it obfuscates what he could even be trying to say.
Oof. There is no way in which "600% reduction in price" makes sense, of course. But I finally get what the (wrong) meaning is.
When Trump says he reduced a price by 500%, he means the new price is 1/5 the old price.
Tricky to figure out because RFK Jr. did the wrong math, wrong.
In all fairness they didn't provide a "WTF kind of question is this supposed to be?" option
Also omnipotence and omnipresence are different, but eh.
Cool.
Yeah, not saying there is any way to get a confidence level the output is "correct", but some responses are going to be based on very highly weighted values in the model, and some less so. I would suspect that visibility is needed for diagnostics and development, just not anywhere public.
Kathryn put it more succinctly (of course) "Read the room".
People expressing extreme frustration over something are rarely looking for a "conversation" about why it can be good too. And "AI can be a useful tool if you use it right" is a view that is expressed to the point of omnipresence already.
I am sure that the underlying model could be wrapped so as to give an indication of confidence level in the response. But that doesn't create the same feelings of amazement and levels of hype, so they tuned for ridiculous levels of unearned confidence in tone.
Someone states, as part of venting about their experiences, a generalization about a group. For rhetorical hyperbole, brevity, humor, or just fact this isn't a testable statement of fact, the possibility of exceptions is left implicit.
Why did you feel the need to jump in with a "well, actually"?
Honestly, I don't think this schtick is really classic sea lioning, they aren't demanding answers to justify what someone said. It really does feel like Not All Men™ style whataboutism. Instead of asking for explanations they won't accept, it's offering unwanted explanations to questions not asked.
"I'm going to try to explain what's going on here"
Fortunately, that's not a phrasing that makes anyone think that you're talking down to them.
Are you not-all-men-ing for LLMs? Really?
Remember when "this story doesn't make sense without encyclopedic knowledge of other fiction, and has not point other than setting up other things later" was a criticism, not the pitch?
Sounds like defeating this particular baby required nothing other than inaction.
Hrm. Is this the dumbest trolley problem variant ever?
As D'Artagnan demonstrated, all cats are grey in the dark.
Related note, who are the supposed good guys in this story, again?
If you like incredibly smooth nibs, Pilot is incredibly consistent in them, even more so than Platinum. For me, when going for a Japanese fine, I actually prefer the Sailor, the feedback feels like better like control, but Pilot does a great job getting such a fine grind to glide smoothly.
Yeah, Sailor is a strange (and sometimes incoherent) brand, especially internationally. The feedback in their nibs is just not what some people want in fountain pens, and it's understandable to assume "really high gold content in 21k nib" equals "smooth" if you don't know ahead of time.
But, one may ask, does one need a Kura Toga with their favorite Pokémon or Studio Ghibli characters on it, instead of a plain one?
Also yes.
Uni One for gel pens are a good choice too if you like a more saturated ink, and they write great.
Pilot varsity have great, highly consistent nibs. They just work, which isn't true for some pens that cost hundreds of dollars.
Fountain pen folks here are more likely to offer unsolicited tips on how to refill them (resisting temptation right now) than they are to look down on your enjoying them.
In my opinion Sailor gold nibs are consistently excellent versions of the idea of a high feedback nib. If that sounds like a dubious idea to you, you definitely would want to find a way to try one out first, or make sure there is a returns option for you from the seller.
Sailor's steel nibs don't have this in my experience, both fountain and dip pens..
I love the Sailor nib feedback personally, but understand why some hate it. I find the sound enjoyable, and the feeling of better control on the page through, well, feedback.
It is very much a matter if taste, some people love the feedback of Sailor nibs, some hate it, but it is definitely to be expected on their gold nibs. But unless their is actually a problem with the nib it should feel similar to a pencil, and not actually scratchy and catching on paper fibers.
This isn’t to say that many people dislike dinosaurs. Only 3% of Americans say they dislike or hate dinosaurs. Instead, a plurality (47%) of Americans say they neither like nor dislike dinosaurs, while another 47% say they either like (17%) or love (30%) dinosaurs.
That graph is showing preferences of people who answered like or love, not how many like/love/hate dinosairs in general. Going to other data in poll, only 3% of people dislike or hate, 47% are neutral, 47% like or love.
And if you do want those tastes, may I introduce you to the ingredients cream, and vanilla.
