Oh, thou clear spirit, of thy fire thou madest me, and like a true child of fire, I breathe it back to thee.
All credit to the artist!

AI slop is a logical conclusion of:
"Practice? Pfft!"
"Talent schmalent!"
Damn, Mark's art been kicking ass for a while now!
I've been saying this occasionally, am saying it more detail in a future essay, and probably will keep saying it until my bones are no longer rigged to the other meat and stuff that's necessary for writing.
Know who could really start a book, lead with a great first sentence or paragraph?
Old Charlie Dickens.
Bleak House
Tale of Two Cities
Nicholas Nickleby
David Copperfield
And that's not counting the engaging beginnings to A Christmas Carol or Great Expectations.

Worth a shot! Julian (our publisher) is a native Spanish speaker; I will see if he can reach out. Thanks for the heads up :)
We're big in Germany, apparently! Just saw this lovely review of our Dark Souls-inspired novella, Contra Amatores Mundi, written by a German reader. It's the first non-English review of our work we've seen. Tremendously pleased to see people across the world enjoying our words :)
If Cormac McCarthy read like a 'normal' book, I wouldn't be interested.
Plot is about 8th on the list.
Voice, style, insight, knowingness, art of language-- all mean more to me.
Try The Road though if you want a more mainstream McCarthy.
After reading "Rider in the Widow Lands," Coy Hall's new Sword & Sorcery story, my admiration only grows. This is a terrific, moody tale about a flinty-eyed "hero" whose past, only glimpsed, could surely fill volumes.
I enjoyed the hell out of this story!

And let us not forget c) wife guy still exists, and he wants to buy stuff for wife with sword
It's a story about knights on a dying earth! Very excited for everyone to read it.
One of our editor's stories, "This Rough Beast," is in this one! Grombrindal versus vampire knights.

We love it indeed!
Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee
Recommendation of the day: "The Coral Heart" by Jeffrey Ford, in the anthology (aptly titled) "Swords and Sorcery," edited by Hartwell and Weisman. A wandering warrior with a sword that turns men to coral visits a villa inhabited by frog-people and a beautiful scholar. He also has a tulpa. Loved it.
