What's it called when you take someone else's reporting, use a screen shot they obtained before the person took the post down, and then fail to credit the reporter? That is called stealing someone else's work.

So I see something about Apple and Tim Cook and for some reason I felt the need to look Tim Onion on here and that’s how I found out about the settled InfoWars website and IP transfer to The Onion.
Now that I tap this out, I am unsure I can follow, much less believe, this turn of events.
For fuck's sake, sign up for The Onion, and get a free limited edition IW tote.
A share of merch sales will go to the Sandy Hook families, which will be the first time they get any money since they filed this lawsuit eight years ago.
Legal fees have been insane. Please sign up and help us out!
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
We all have days like this
Tempting!!!!
Betty Yee drops out of the race for Californian Governor. (She’ll still appear on June ballot tho)
I’m following the race, the events, etc., but not much to comment on it.
(Thinking of a friend who supported and held a meet and greet + fundraiser for Ms. Yee; that’s a tough place to be.)
I’ve a Q now, about settlements from lawsuits vs Edison/utility companies, how is that taxed? Kitchen table discussion now: the compensation for loss portion isn’t taxed, but punitive damages are? Dunno.
Oh the things we did not know when the flames broke out the night of Jan 7, 2025.
Support #HR5366!
Re: Edison’s settlement offer to #EatonFire survivors in lieu of litigation:
“But unless a bill [HR-5366] moving thru Congress becomes law, that money could be taxed as income, taking big bites out of their payments & possibly disqualifying them from other government benefits.”
That, combined with testimonies of those who were forbidden to study, to work, to be promoted, or whose work went unacknowledged, or was credited to others, and you’ve got a hell of a myth that only “some” contribute.
(for example, hear the Lost Women of Science podcast, one population among many)
When your recipe for shrimp scampi for 2 calls for cooking shells to extract extra flavor, but the shrimp is tail-shells-only 🍤 but! OMG! But! You’ve got a bunch of frozen shrimp shells in freezer that you saved for later, and then you produce them in the nick of time when all seems lost. Ha HA! 🦐

This thread. I have been doing this kind of work for a very long time and I know a lot about exactly this. If you want to do misconduct reporting with scared sources going up against very powerful people, and also keep your soul, it takes time. So much time. It’s very difficult. Brain meltingly so.

Upper left corner is a fountain pen. (gold-ish brushed metal)
The blue pen that’s visible is a pilot gel pen. Not the pen that write on the page. For that matter the gold-ish metal pen is also not the pen that wrote on the page.
(Now you know I didn’t stage foto beyond the text thru the eye 😜)
Yes, both sides
A spiral notebook open and the words “9 April A new notebook” written at the top of the page. The view is framed by a blurry round object close to the camera lens. There are pens on the green mat surface of the table.
The other day I started a new notebook. Took a photo of the first words through a magnetic tripod attachment
#fountainPen (alas the pen itself is not showing in this photo) #cursive

A Culver City nonprofit announced it is donating three Victorian-era homes to two Altadena families whose properties were destroyed in the Eaton Fire, transporting the century-old structures from Los Angeles overnight to fire-cleared lots where they will be restored.

Paper stub of an electric bill with the Southern California Edison Company name and old signature SCE logo. The S is a curved cord that connects to the base of an electro plug, C, from which 3 prongs (E) emerge. In blurred background a cardboard box is labeled “to shred”
Shoutout to Saul Bass (I think it was) who designed the classic cord-and-plug logo for Southern California Edison back in the day.
A later ceo came in and fancied himself a designer, result: ick. 😠
How it looked back in 1978.
(Also trashing and purging papers should happen more often than this)

Here, I want to talk about paying you, but when I use this word, you’ll probably think the check is gonna bounce.
Thank you!
This was my grandfather’s.
He was a telegrapher, a dispatcher for Southern Pacific and was even Station Master iirc
When I was young, he gave me a board with different Morse code keys and bugs, and a clacker and a ln elevated prince-Albert-in-a-can buzzer.
Alas, it’s not among these things 🤷🏻♀️
A telegrapher’s key (the kind that you move your fingers side to side). The business end is taped down.
