Maybe this problem will be fixed by the time CS updates and by the time I can actually afford a better PC though.

This is more noticeable with water mods, so unless this is fixed, I may stick with vanilla water. Which might be illegal, but eh. It might still be happening with vanilla water, but is just harder to see due to a change in detail and what not. Although it's less pretty, it's also less obtrusive.
This is actually comparatively light modding. Tools and features have just advanced a lot compared to what there used to be.
It seems linked to upscaling, even without dynamic cubemaps. Maybe the water is being displayed at a lower resolution and it isn't being fixed by the upscaling.
CS Screen space reflections in the water are looking a jittery with NVIDIA DLSS Upscaling, but I guess this is just a bug I'm going to have to wait out, because there's seemingly nothing I can do to fix it besides turning off upscalling & antialiasing, resulting in weird ghosting elsewhere. Alas!
compression really does not do this video any justice
FPS dips down into 30 every now and then, which is unfortunate but not a serious problem. But sometimes the game freezes and I've even crashed after closing the game (which has been an issue with my computer for a while), so my really isn't healthy enough for this, I think.
my pc isn't good enough to run it without crashing, but its cray cray how good this looks with CS + reshade (first time using those two) and a grass / tree mod.
It's not as "pretty" as an ENB, I guess, and feels a little too dark -- but I may be able to fix that in 20 years when I get a new PC.
... we have technology.
they finally did it... pokemon snap 2...
o-oh...
you know what they say a good offense is a good defense or something.
In Reforged, changing armament affinities provides new passives. So a "Heavy" Shield does even more poise damage, so it's been my go-to for stance breaking. But since I'm not at all confident here, I made it my main weapon too.

I rarely made use of spirit summons outside of the occasional boss in vanilla alladin ring, so it was pretty cool using them so strategically here.
holy poop, thank goodness for left-hand blocking & deflects...

I've been playing too much Nightreign, I forgot fall damage was a thing...
I only started playing the game specifically because of the optimization updates. It was outright unplayable for me during the beta, running at like 10FPS even on Low Settings. Now I'm getting decent performance, with only occasional stutter and texture/model loading. My CPU is at 100% though...
I had to record and fall in love with one of the slides before this where the Hunter ends her slide, but then twists in the opposite direction to spin as she regains her balance. It's so much detail for something that only occurs under certain conditions just to communicate a sense of weight.
I think it also suits my otherwise hud-less, minimalist style. It feels like a fitting choice to remove as much info as possible to focus on the core experience I enjoy in navigating the world -- and it makes marked monsters feel like a reward for my actions instead of something to take for granted.
I've only forgotten to mark a monster once or twice, forcing me to "track" it down again. So it's an interesting bit of friction, and it gives me an actual reason to actually make use of paintballs as a system so they're not a mostly useless feature to me.
I like engaging with weird niche things.
Another unique feature is the ability to hide monster map icons. I didn't like the removal of tracking from MHW, so this option allows me to "track" monsters myself (albeit with no clues, just memory, like old gen).
But paintballs WILL mark them again, which is an interesting system to engage with.
this feels like the meanest thing i have ever done in my life
weeeeeeee
I never use weapons like this with slower animations / action commitment since I prefer the mobile Sword and Shield, but it does feel really good to correctly time those attacks that would otherwise cause me to eat shit or completely miss.
WHAT IS THIS TAG TEAM WRESTLING BULLPOOP
Increasing the opacity makes sense, as the ammo coatings at the center of the screen (not shown) are also opaque. It fits. But the problem is that opaque bar will float around the center of the screen even when the bow is not drawn, as long as its still in battle. So bottom is likely wiser.
I originally had it below the player, but I moved it towards the reticle to make it easier to see. But I've mixed feelings... It may not be easy enough to see, amidst all the moving noise. So I think I'll either need to move it to the bottom of the screen or increase the opacity...
