No I didn't mean you, I meant the world in general, particularly Holywood. Sorry ๐

So Claire,
Given what we've learnt about this particular mission, was #Apollo13 really a failure?
I think not.

Now that seance is just pure Monty Python.

Who's playing with a theremin?
#thefilmcrowd
He did look a bit like Mr Tumble - my granddaughter's scared stiff of him.

Yes I might get that for my #U3A talks on film music, next one is on the 2010s ,then the 1990s so it's a while off yet.
Clifton Parker probably better known for his music to rail documentaries such as Blue Pullman and Elizabethan Express. Used to feature on #ClassicFM occasionally, when they were a bit more adventurous.
Evening everyone.

It's good to be back on Talking Pictures TV.

Ooh yes, let's have Whistle down the Wind.
Except that the corn-dog seems to have been cooked.๐ค
Indeed.
A reminder to us who are not from the USA, perhaps, that there are many Americans who've furthered the progress of mankind, but in a quiet and understated way. She is definitely one of them.
Yes, I got a new mobile last year, a Samsung, I'm still trying to get used to it. It was the cheapest in Argos, so the camera is a bit basic and sometimes, seems to have a mind of its own.
...and in some cases , actually killing them.
That's not too bad, is that with your phone Claire?
You could go out in the Lakes, walking or sightseeing, all the railways were still intact then, though yeah, a guide book or map might help, I suppose.
Here we are at Leeds Minster for the Brahms Requiem with a reduced orchestra and the St Peter's singers. There's some Bruckner and Mendelssohn as well.
Bovec in the Julian Alps is a nice place to visit.
Hi Claire
Managed to find a bottle. If you're in the Leeds/Yorkshire area in the near future, you can have it over a coffee. I'm also in Preston quite frequently. The best before date is a while off.

That looks interesting, I could do with more film scores from the 1930s, for my various #u3a music talks , otherwise, it might have to get amalgamated with the 40s. Coal Face is of particular interest.
That's being played by an amateur orchestra on the 25th of April in Northampton. A bit difficult for me to get to though. The Bax symphonies I'd really like to see live in concert are the 3rd and 7th.
The problem I find with that version is that it's not played very often. The last time (I think?) the 3rd was played up here in Northern England, was in Manchester, 2 years ago, the 1877 version. I attended the concert and it was very good, but live performances are rare.
That seems fair enough to me, they don't want security information being fed back to Iran, which is what will happen if it's posted on the Internet.
At the time of the recording, the third wasn't heard or recorded that often, with some Bruckner writers dismissing it. I think Karajan is trying to make a good case for it by concentrating on the tragic elements, as such it might come across these days as lacking in atmosphere.
Where's Gromit ?

Nearly an hour now, and we've yet to see some vampire blood sucking action.

Looks like this bit was copied from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
