The US and Israeli policy on Iran over decades has been one of utter failure - this has lasted since 1979. The failure started even before then with the total failure to see the fragility of the Shah's regime and to even entertain the thought it could fall.

Has the UK government said anything on these strikes on Iran yet? Did the US use any British bases - with or without consent? (Silence might be the best indication we get as to where the government stands).
